Re: Idle RPMs on EJ22
Totally normal, expected even, good for you.? Why?? ECU has been used to and made micro adjustments to compensate for dirty cloggy IACV.? So it's running high with new cleanliness.? Solution:?

Idle RPMs on EJ22
Hi!
I cleaned out the IAC valve on my EJ22 swap in my 1990 Westy and am seeing an increase in idle RPM.
At cold start, it goes up to 2000 RPM in Park. After she warms up, she drops down to 1100

Re: EJ22 ECU Chattering
The stock VW fuel pump provides plenty of volume and pressure and works
seamlessly with the Subaru engine.
Your 2.2 doesn't use any more gas than the 2.1WBX.

Re: EJ22 ECU Chattering
The noise isn't coming from the ecu or pump/starter relays. It's actually coming from the fuel pump itself. It's the original wasserboxer pump, that maybe I should have swapped out when I did the ej22

Re: gas tank emissions monitor isn't setting
Gary,
Which exact plate are they trying to get? There are numerous different plates in Nevada for older vehicles (classic vehicle, classic rod, old timer, etc) and they all have slightly different

Re: gas tank emissions monitor isn't setting
Good morning Gary.
I assume you¡¯re talking about an obd2 code, right?
And that code causes the OBD2 MIL error to be thrown and the light stays lit.
Im pretty certain that none of the folks that

I got several things done in the engine bay today. ?First, mounted the RMW stainless bracket for their aluminum coolant tank. ?I mounted it approximately 1/2 inch below the tab as recommended.

Good call. I¡¯ve read that the braided flat ground straps are best. I¡¯ll try to locate several (extra intake ground as well).

Run a ground strap from the alternator and the starter ground to the chassis while you're at it.

Wayne, thanks for the link. But in that thread, if the ECU was constantly rebooting, then the car would be bucking like hell, which it¡¯s not. It runs real smooth.

Re: EJ22 ECU Chattering
https://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/archive/index.php/t-56826.html If it is the ECU it could be a bad battery. How old is yours. Have it checked out. Try another battery. Check your ignition and battery

Re: EJ22 ECU Chattering
Likely to be a relay under there as the ecu has no moving parts unless you¡¯re hearing electrical popping in which case you¡¯d want to figure that out really quick I think
