I used a 92-94 canister for Subaru from Rockauto ( currently sold out) It had 3 outlets - tank, 3rd rail evap and one other for atmosphere that I connected to the intake. Worked well.

I managed to screw this up too.??

The system needs to admit air for gas to leave.

Are you filling the tank with gas every fill-up plus some extra after the pump clicks off?

Must be hooked up wrong.? The canister must hook up to the rollover valves on the tops of the fenderwell tanks, and should never see liquid fuel ever.

So I finally got the VSS correct, I ended up running wires from the engine bay to an oscilloscope in the passenger seat to ensure I had was getting the right signal.? I ended up using the fast forward VSS, the go westy and other one bought on ebay where not consistent, meaning sometimes i got pulses sometimes i didnt.? So the VW side is 12V PNP, while the Subaru side is 5V NPN.? I used my relay as described above and put the output of the relay on the subary to ground and the VSS signal as the input.? Works great and my RPMs are much happier, still on the higher side but least i can drive it!? have 50 miles on now.? thanks to everyone for helping!

We're running the 2.1L stock style muffler and it's been fine.? It's mounted to the Small Car engine mount.

We had an engine noise issue that was fixed by eliminating the cone style filter and using the more expensive Rocky Mountain filter box.? It's been great since.

If you have a Smallcar engine carrier and header a used Porsche 911 SS muffler is the way to go imo. See files.

I think my new old stock vanagon stock muffler is the most quiet. I found one on the samba.
