I checked the code twice and got two long and seven short. It relates to the VSS. I was chasing down a bad slowing down stumble which would stall the motor(automatic trans). Found out by dumb luck that when I disconnect the VSS the stumble goes away instantly and the check engine light comes on with code 27. Plug the VSS back in at a stop, with the engine running and the light goes out. And, at least for today, no stumble. I suspect sun spots or aliens.
