While attempting to put my engine in late Sunday night, the
eng/tranny combo slipped off the jack i was using under the trans
while the eng was held up by an engine hoist. Due to lack of sleep
and judgement, I grabbed the tranny under the tailshaft(don't try
this at home kids) and the trans slipped off the jack and landed on
my right hand middle finger. Luckily the tranny was in neutral and
it rolled off onto the concrete floor instead of chopping right
through my finger. After eight stiches, a Tetnus shot, Antibiotics,
pain killers, and a finger splint for the broken bone, I don't have
any problem giving people the bird! I had to employ the help of a
friend to do my dirty work and we finally got the engine in Thursday
night(finger hurt too much Monday through Wednesday). Will keep list
posted of progress, but probably will slow down because it's my good
hand that I cant use too much. Has anyone ever tried to put the nut
on the tranny mount with a big metal splint on their finger? It's
not easy! I have lots of pictures but hav not decided how to post
them yet. Any suggestions will help.
