Looking for info on a Carl Hansen clone of a 9" South Bend

Hi group, I posted this question in the previous group, and thank you to the people that replied. I found I couldn't post anything else in the thread or upload any pictures so I'll try again here.
The lathe in question looks (to me at least) like a South Bend, and in fact has been fitted with the change gears and cover from one. The headstock has "C.Hansen Wpg" cast into it. I bought it from a gentleman here in Montreal who had it originally from Mr Hansen himself. He was the engineering supervisor for MacDonald aircraft in Winnipeg and apparently made a number of 9 and 14 inch lathes in the 1930's and 40's. I found a reference to him in the local papers from 1934; he was apparently an active member in the local model engineering society.
I've searched the internet, and read through everything possibly relevant on lathes.co.uk but have found no other info. If anyone knows anything or has another example of Mr Hansen's lathes I'd be really interested to hear from you. I'll try to upload some pictures of the lathe.

There some machine tools made in world war 2 by others due to shortages of tools.
This lathe? sound like one.
FYI uploading photos is very simple on phones with the new groups.io

Most clones had ball or roller bearing head stock and V-belts.
From what read is most parts can be exchanged but headstocks.

Dave

Here's a few pictures of the lathe. I have a countershaft pulley and motor which was originally hanging from the ceiling above the lathe. Not sure whether I'll do the same or build a swingarm arrangement.

The lathe looks per 1930's South Bend Lathe .
The thread dial look like the latest from 1990's

That's what I'd concluded from looking on the lathes website, although some of the parts look more 'squared off' than the castings of the real SBs, and the feet look a bit different.
I'm looking forward to getting it up and running. All the slideways and bearings etc seem to run beautifully, so I hope it'll be accurate too.
It should be a bit more rigid than my little Hamilton round bed :)

Welcome to group

Dave

I finally got round to building a workbench and installing the lathe. (one of the benefits of lock-down I guess!)
Aligned the bed (using Rollys Dad's Method - works really well!) So I find the lathe is very accurate, turns to within a couple of tenths at either end of a test bar!

I think the spindle nose must be non-standard though. Are most SB9's an MT2 internal taper and a 1-inch x 8tpi thread? Mine has an MT3 internal taper and the thread seems a very peculiar size; 10 TPI and a OD/ID measured at 1.280 and 1,150 inches. 60-degree thread angle. Anyone seen similar before?

I believe it is license by South Bend .
South Bend Lathe license all over world to build the 9 and 10K.
The 10K and 9 use most same parts. This helps if need parts

Some companies that built the license cope would upgrade the headstock.

Dave

FYI if you use email for posting just add photos easy?

Good info. I'll post pics soon.

Maybe I'm in the wrong group. Or... I posted where I shouldn't have. Mine is a true SB not a clone. Am I in the wrong group?????
