If you great shape you life the bench top remove the Chuck and tailstock first.

From what you've said it sounds to be a similar size to my south bend-ish lathe (a Canadian copy). Took two of us to carry it up out of the guy's basement when I bought it. Around 100lbs I'd guess.

The 8" South Bend was made be for the 9" and 10K basically it is same lathe but 8" swing .
It has closer to same weight yes it is thread spindle
It is good lathe and will do great job.
