I'm not a lathe expert or a real machinist, but I'd guess your deviation is in the middle of the cut & likelyfrom the shaft/work piece flexing. (can't read your measurements on my pc)? ?the guys in

Andrei, as you can see the red display is mounted over my control box. my lathe is a 11" Rockwell and runs off a VFD to give me 220v 3 phz. the tachulator is not like a?Arduino at all. you can't

i made a extention for the end of the spindle, at the same time i made it a nice spider for holding long stock. had to make a small alum bracket to mount the pickup on.
