It looks like Steve sells some good stuff although I am curious about his belts and splicing method. I used to work for a printing company and took care of most the belts, splicing and training for belts splicing. Most the belts were for conveyors but many were rated as drive belts as well. Anyway, all the belt suppliers told me "there was no way to get a good strong splice without heat". They also told me that there were cold glues available but recommended against using them. I wonder is Steve uses a cold splice method??
I've been retired for about 7 years now but just over a years ago I found two spools of surplus 2-inch wide Habasit F1 belt material.? This is very good belt and good up to about 1.5 HP (possibly more). At the full 2-inch width it sells for $13/foot and I'm selling it at any width for $5/foot. I will splice for $5 and ship for $8.?
If you need to splice a belt on your lathe I can accommodate but the heater, guide and glue will add a 1-time cost of about $40.?
So a continuous (pre-spiced) belt might be $28-38 bucks and if you want to splice it yourself it's more like $68-78 (depending on length needed).
I've sold about 400 ft and have about 280ft left. Its not selling super quick but once its gone I'll be out of the belt business. New belt is just too dang high priced!?
Send me a private message if you are interested in a new belt and I'll give you price.
Include the length needed and tell me if you want it pre-spliced. (US Shipping only)
