wrote: In Dumbledore's Army, you updated once every 1.5 days. Now you areI'll take the time to answer this one only because it's probably important that people understand how we write our stories. I (Bob) usually write the bulk of the chapter with Alyx occasionally contributing scenes. Then I pass the chapter to her for editing, proofing and polishing. Sunset has a much more complex plot that either Dumbledore's Army or Spiritus Crystalus. In both of those fictions a chapter was roughly the equivalent of a month's time frame. In Sunset, we have already had several chapters were the total time covered was barely a few days. In one chapter, it covered just the first day at Hogwarts. Such a complex storyline, and one designed to get more complex as it progresses, is not always easy to write. Even after a chapter is complete I have to go back and check it against my plotline to make sure I've included all the needed steps. So please, if we've gone from published every other day to putting out one or two files a week. Forgive us. :) - Bob |
Thanks for all the fish, er I mean updates
Vern
Hey Bob and Alyx. I was pleasantly surprised, delighted even, to see
you started your own group. As you know, I hope, I've been enjoying your stories for several weeks now, and chapter 10 is definitely another great one. As I think I've said before, what I most enjoy about this story is how you've exptapolated certain characteristics of the various characters and made them you own and still remained true to canon in their personalities more or less. I loved the overwrought Molly in this chapter and how she's so clueless and trying to blame everyone else for her problems, which she obviously started herself. In fact I thought the whole hearing was quite well done. Amelia Bones being part of the board gives a whole new meaning to the phrase conflict of interest, and I absolutely love it. Even though it puts her in a delicate spot legally I would think, it still goves her some power to influence the whole scenario. That is very well done, in my not-so-humble opinion. (Why be humble about your opinions, right? They're yours, be proud of them even it they're out to lunch) So anyway, I could spend several hours analyzing the whole chapter, which would be totally pointless I think, so I will just say another hearty WELL DONE!! I'm greatly enjoying the story, I'll be glad to add to the mayhem here like I do on Abraxan's group if you'd like, and thanks for sharing your wonderful stories with us. Oh, and the name of the group is perfect, lol. Vern, off to read some other lesser story while waiting with bated breath for the next update of Sunset. |
Hello
Hello Bob and Alyx,
I am happy to see that you have started this group. I have been reading your stories and some of the recommended stories on you ff.net pages, and am happy to say that I have never been disappointed by either your stories or recommended stories. So it is nice to see where we can chat and talk to you and others that like your stories as much as we do. Have a good day and weekend, Steve |

well now this is an insteresting chpt. and it does goto prove that
ole Dumbledore is a right basterd. as cagey and paranoid as Mad-Eye is, one wonders why he's still following Dumbledore. not saying hte old goat should side with Harry immidetly, but considering how baddly Dumbledore is screwing the pooch here and his calaus treatment of students(that altering of memories shoul really worry Mad-Eye) but how the Old Fool isn't properly keeping his head in the game as he goes outta his way to alienate Harry under the guise of returning him to the fold should put Alaster off(yes I realize you have method to your madness, just makeing an observation). the bit about Molly being a plump aunt Petunia was amuseing as well. I'm personally of the oppion that Rod got off far too light in his actions and it's ironic that emptying the Weasley's vaults of half their value probably only returns money that they've embezzeled over the years(well ok, that Dumbledore embezzeled). still it was good to see some small justice done. eagerly awaiting seeing Harry's lil prank. the developments between Draco & Luna are interesting. looking forward to seeing how Draco's going to be kept outta daddy-dearest's hands... hell basically I'm eagerly awaiting more. |

Hey all... long time/first time (for those familiar with AM Talk
Radio.) For the authors, I am better known as PK Fan on FFN. Now to address the subject..... Good grief, cut the authors a little slack. I know we all enjoy reading their works but bashing them over the speed of the updates will do nothing positive for either the writers or the readers. We have found a great pair of authors here, and I'll be damned if I'll allow them to go underground like RossWrock and Arya did after receiving a lot of flak for lack of updates from their Yahoo!Board. They are doing this for their own enjoyment. I don't want to take that pleasure away from them. For the length and quality of the chapters, I think getting 2 updates a week is rather generous. It's much easier to sit back and read them than it is to actually write them. Trust me, I know. I am as anxious as everyone else to read the upcoming chapters. Badgering won't do anything positive. I must content myself with other distractions knowing that they are working diligently on our behalf. Bob and Alyx -- great, great work. Keep them coming as best you can. -- PK Fan --- In snorkack@..., "tendrarinstat" <tendrarinstat@y...> wrote: In Dumbledore's Army, you updated once every 1.5 days. Now you are |

开云体育I can almost imagine a knock down, drag out fight
between Harry and Dumbles. I am definitely looking forward to
that.?However, I've been expecting a comment from Harry about attack dogs
in relation to Snape. Dumbles seems to be a complete idiot, though. I mean, he
doesn't seem to consider?that harry has found out what he has done and is
doing.?Then,?he seems surprised that?Harry is so hostile towards
him. I hope, once everything is said and done, Dumbles ends up UNDER Azkaban.
However, the question comes up: Who is teh greater enemy, Dumbles or
Voldemort? |

It's very hard for us to respond to reviews like this withoutadage of telling you to keep reading. :)ooooh I deffently plan to, I'm very much so enjoying this fic. The fic isn't nearly dark enough yet. It's going to get pitch black.well I deffently look forward to how bad it's gonna get. deffently liken this one. Bobthanks, I should fit in just fine here ;^). |
Chapter 10 review
Greg
Good chapter!
I can't believe some of the things Dumbledore has done and he doesn't seem to have a conscious about them. Giving someone false memories to force them to follow a different path!!! That's just evil. And losing the Malfoy fortune that way. HA HA HA HA I think the hearing was done perfectly. And the way they just tuned Mrs. Weasley out was hilarious!! "HIS SCHOOL DAMMIT" indeed. And a portable swamp on Snape!!! OUTSTANDING! Although, I'm confused; did Peeves work with Harry on that or was it just a good timing thing? As always, keep up the good work. Greg |
Fic Recommendations
Okay you guys were looking for recommendations and I thought the ball
rolling with some stories I enjoy. cts - Reign O'er me (Harry/Ginny) Anya's Naked Quidditch Match is good for a giggle SS Henry's work is all enjoyable And one of my favourite HP authors is Jeconais whose website andstories can be found at Feel free to disagree with me, I'm not easily offended and would love to hear of other peoples favorites - not that this is a complete list of my own ones. Re: HELP WANTED!
Hi Bob and Alyx
First off, thanks for opening up the group, I think we've all seen how tempremental ff.net can get and if you ever disappear we'll know where to find you. Secondly, I'm Irish, based in the UK for college and anything I can help you out with just let me know, I'd be happy to help get the story authentc, or even just give an opinion. Thirdly, I love the group name, now I can tell people where to find the snoracks. Cheers and thanks for writing Fin --- In snorkack@..., "bobmi357" <submitaccount@y...> wrote: We're looking for two people that might be willing to help us. Re: Chapter 10
Sorry. it's just that draco used ginny in order to talk about luna's
power, so i assumed... A detail: why didn't hermion attacked when she had the charm on her? it would have put pansy on the deffensive... I also think that harry should be giving private lesson to all of the outcast, as they will be facing oppression by the school... |
Ron's Punishment in chapter 10.
Some reviewers are saying he got off lightly. Lets see,
1) 2 month in school suspension working as Filch's assistant. 2) Loss of his quidditch captaincy and unable to play the game ever again in Hogwarts. 3) A fine of +48K Galleons 4) A one year suspended sentence. All that for an assault that probably today would have been plea bargained down to indecent groping. The simple fact is everyone is screaming for Ron, Snape and Dumbledore to go to jail and if you sit back and think about it, you'll see as soon as that happens the story is over. We tried to come up with a suitable punishment that would not remove Ron from the picture this early. Of course, if you want, we can always drop an anvil on his head and be done with him.... but that would (a) kill the need for a sequel for this story and (b) finish Sunset in a chapter or two which would be momumentally boring! People will get punished, eventually. And on our schedule, not our wonderful readers :) We have a time line we're working with and things have to happen in the correct order and at the correct times. - Bob |

Draco seems pretty powerful in this fic, so why does he always getI don't know where you get the idea that Ginny is more powerful than Hermione. Ginny's cast a few spells so far in the story. In this last chapter we find Hermione using Harry's full body rebounding shield and none of the other outcasts will be capable of doing that. - Bob |
