Bluestone research is seeking Field Technicians for immediate work in Northern Virginia and Brown County Indiana. Pay range $24-26 an hour depending on experience plus $157 per diem. Fieldwork will primarily consist of shovel testing and Phase II excavations (including our ongoing excavation in Culpepper Virginia). In addition to this, Bluestone research is seeking a qualified candidate to run archaeological survey¡¯s and assist in report writing (strong editing skills are needed). This field director position work will be primarily based in Northern Virginia so ideal candidates should be based in the vicinity. Candidates should be SOI qualified (or at the very minimum have a master¡¯s degree or substantial experience) and have a firm understanding of laws such as section 106 of the NRHP. Candidates will need to be able to lead Phase I surveys. GIS and artifact identification skills would also be beneficial. Salary will start at $32 an hour (up to $34 an hour for exceptionally qualified candidates) ($157 per diem for projects farther than 50 miles from home). after a probationary period medical benefits will also be offered.
