We are seeking a full-time Senior Archaeologist for our Pasadena or Mission Viejo office. The successful applicant will manage and implement diverse cultural resources projects and work collaboratively with existing Dudek staff. Direct experience working in the greater Los Angeles, Orange County, and Inland Empire is strongly desired, as well as the ability to travel and work outside of the local area. Duties and Responsibilities (may include some or all of the below):?

Ability to successfully manage all aspects of small-, medium-, and large-sized projects, including archeological monitoring, surveys, subsurface explorations, significance testing, and mitigation data recovery investigations requiring scope of work/technical approach, budget, and schedule preparation.

·??? The applicant would implement and manage archaeological monitoring, survey, and excavation projects from start to finish, responsibilities of which include:

oknowing and applying local, state, and federal regulations for cultural resources

opreparing research design, scopes of work, and permit application,

ocoordinating with our project administrators and accountants to set up, organize, and manage projects according to the scope of work,

ocoordinating with clients, Native American tribes, and agency staff and managing expectations for each project,

odirecting fieldwork in-person where required or delegating responsibility for field direction to qualified staff while maintain open communication with field staff,

oreviewing the field crew’s daily logs and other field forms, notes, and collected GIS data for quality control and to ensure fieldwork continues to meet contractual obligations and state and federal standards for cultural resources investigations,

oleading laboratory analysis for collected materials and coordinating with our laboratory manager for collections processing, analysis, and curation.

oauthoring, reviewing, and managing the timely submittal of cultural resources monitoring, survey, and excavation technical reports, and addressing any comments from the client, tribes, or agency staff,

ocontinuing to support the client through the project’s regulatory process, as necessary

·??? The applicant will be expected to maintain our existing client relationships and develop relationships with new clients. Ability to champion proposals, collaborate with our marketing team and other team members, and clearly communicate our qualifications, experience, and work approach to a potential client will be necessary.

Minimum Requirements

·??? A graduate degree (Master’s or Doctoral degree in archaeology or anthropology)

·??? Minimum of 8 years’ supervisory experience in cultural resources management, or equivalent experience in regulatory setting.

·??? Knowledge of the history, archaeology, and ethnography of Southern California

·??? A working knowledge of local, State, and federal cultural resources regulations and guidelines

·??? Ability to manage field crews and to logically support field decisions

·??? Supervisory and management experience

·??? Business development experience

·??? Excellent writing skills

·??? Good knowledge and application of CEQA/NEPA analyses for cultural resources and tribal cultural resources

Northern Utah Arch Field Technicians needed for multiple projects, full-time or part-time seasonal (SCA wage rates)

Harris Environmental Group (HEG) is looking to hire three or more Archaeological Field Technicians for multiple cultural resources survey projects in Northern and Central Utah.

Crews will be working 8-day sessions, Thursday to Thursday, at 10-hours per day (including rated paid travel time). The pay rate for field technicians is dependent on contracts, but most are consistent with SCA wage rates for project counties.(The typical schedule is 8 days on, 6 days off.)

Field Technicians are responsible for assisting the Crew Chief in identifying and recording cultural resources in the field. This includes identifying and documenting all types of regional artifacts and features, thoroughly filling out appropriate site forms, site/artifact photography, navigating survey transects with Garmin GPS, and mapping sites using Trimble GPS.

Ideal candidates will be located in or around Northern Utah (especially Salt Lake City area), as we are not able to fly techs in and out for field sessions, nor do we provide for housing in-between scheduled field sessions.

Qualifications:

? Bachelor’s Degree in archaeology, anthropology, or related field

? Accredited field school (preferred)

? At least 12 months of supervised experience in CRM pedestrian survey (preferred)
? Ability to work in hot conditions, inclement weather, and remote locations
? Ability to hike up to 10 miles a day in rugged terrain while carrying up to 40 lbs. of gear and water (required)
? Proficiency with basic Garmin GPS devices and familiarity with Trimble GPS (using Terrasync) is preferred
? Skill using digital tablets for site recordation (preferred)

(SRI), a multidisciplinary cultural resources consulting firm, has several hourly positions immediately available for Crew Technicians for upcoming survey projects headquartered from SRI’s Tucson’s office. Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of 6 months’ field experience (i.e., survey, testing, and data recovery) and be physically fit and able to perform physically demanding tasks in adverse environmental conditions including hot temperatures, and challenging terrain while carrying up to 40 lbs. Job Description:

Reporting to the Project Director and Crew Lead, Crew Technician are responsible for conducting reconnaissance survey, the establishment of grids, artifact collection, test unit and feature excavation, and documentation.   • Conduct archaeological survey, testing, and data recovery.
  • Point-locate observation and surface collection units as well as surface artifacts using a Trimble global positioning system (GPS) receiver and/or Field Maps.
  • Draw features in plan and profile that conform to SRI mapping conventions.

RGA is seeking a Principal Investigator/Senior Archaeologist to be based out of its Wake Forest, NC office. This position can be hybrid remote and in office/field. Prior work experience in the southeast, particularly North Carolina, is preferred but not required.

Principal Investigator/Senior Archaeologist responsibilities include:

  • Coordination with review agencies including various SHPO, federal and state agencies.
  • Direct, plan, organize, and manage archaeological surveys, site recordation, monitoring, and other duties in operational regions
