Archaeological Field Technician?Temporary POWER Engineers, Inc., one of the nation’s strongest energy-related engineering and environmental consultants, is seeking Archaeological Field Technicians for fieldwork on multiple archaeological field projects in Washington State, Oregon, Nevada, and California. These are hourly positions on a project basis; however, future work is imminent. Pay will be determined by education and experience. Single occupancy hotel rooms and per diem are standard. The successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to perform Phase I archaeological survey work in the far Western U.S. Projects may involve extended periods of fieldwork in remote areas. Additional work/tasks may arise providing additional work opportunities. Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities? The Field Technician provides technical support, utilizing a basic understanding of anthropological and archaeological field techniques in connection with locating, testing, recording, mapping, and evaluating archaeological sites and supporting field surveys. Conducting field surveys (pedestrian and shovel test surveys) using topographic maps, aerial photographs, and ESRI ArcCollector GPS data collection software will be a regular part of this role. This position requires the ability to work long hours, in difficult or remote environments, and in varying weather conditions and the ability to work with groups composed of diverse personalities. A positive attitude and ability to accept direction is a must, as well as the ability to work independently and to fully plan and execute personal assignments with minimal instruction. Previous CRM field experience or academic archaeological field school ·??????? Serve as the Primary Investigator on state and federal conservation projects, conduct cultural resources and historic property investigations, evaluations, and develop treatment plans for mitigation with NRCS CRS (Cultural Resources Specialist/Archeologist). Provide reports, findings, recommendations, and pertinent information to SHPO/THPO and NRCS in a format approved by the SHPO/THPO office within two weeks of investigation. The project will begin at the end of July and likely last through August 2024. A bachelor’s degree in anthropology and attendance in a field school are required, and historic archaeological field experience is preferred. Hourly rate is between $19.25 and $21.25, depending on amount of experience.?Lodging will be provided for the duration, and $46 per diem will be provided for all workdays. Archaeological Field Technicians - CO, AZ $22-24/hour Alpine Archaeological Consultants
开云体育Alpine is accepting applications for Field Archaeologists for upcoming survey work. By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to further develop your skillset while working on a variety of projects within our 12-state region. Projects are currently scheduled through the end of 2024. ? ? Wages are based on experience, but range from $22–$24 per hour for crew members. Individuals may be trained as assistant crew chiefs on some projects and receive additional compensation. This is a full-time, temporary, hourly position with the potential for work into 2025. ? Our typical field sessions are 8 days on/6 days off; (Tuesday – Tuesday)? 10-hour work days. ? Alpine provides a minimum of $59/day per diem and single occupancy housing during all field sessions. Higher per diem may be provided based on the project’s location. Company transportation is provided from our offices to the project area unless entire crew is flying. This position is entirely field based and requires the ability to regularly perform physical work, including, but not limited to, the ability to walk up to 8 miles a day (sometimes in rugged terrain). Friends of Jawbone (FOJ) and Friends of El Mirage (FOEM) are non-profit organizations in support of off-highway vehicle recreation in the West Mojave Desert. Among our activities are restoration projects on public lands managed by the BLM. Each year we restore 20-30 miles of motorized routes that are designated closed, with current projects in the Jawbone, Rand Mountains, El Paso Mountains, El Mirage, and Stoddard Valley regions.
