HRA projects in Washington State need people!
Historical Research Associates, Inc. (HRA) is seeking qualified field crew for upcoming field projects throughout Washington State including surveys and test excavations along the Lewis River in the southwestern part of the state, test excavations at Ft. Lewis near Tacoma, and surveys and test excavations on the Yakima Training Center near Ellensburg, Washington.
The surveys and test excavations along the Lewis River are slated to begin October 4th, and HRA needs to hire six (6) archaeologists. The project involves survey and testing of archaeological sites in and around reservoirs on the Lewis River, and the project should last from Oct. 4th to Oct. 24th. The other projects are to begin later this fall, with the excavations at the Yakima Training Center coming sometime in the spring.

Short project in SW Oregon
Historical Research Associates (HRA) is trying to find up to 3 crew people for a 4 day project in Tri City, Oregon, a small town along I-5 south of Roseburg. The project includes excavation of up to 9 50x50 cm test pits in the ROW of a natural gas pipeline. Work will begin as soon as an Oregon excavation permit is secured, which is expected on 9/2 or 9/3. Crew members are expected to have a good base of experience in Northwest archaeology and a willingness to work on Labor Day, if necessary.

The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in archaeology and have both research and instructional background in remote sensing (geophysical prospecting and satellite imagery) and familiarity with Geographic Information Systems. The successful candidate will have an active research program, a strong commitment to teaching, and be capable of teaching both at the undergraduate and graduate level.
