Position Overview:

E2 Project Management LLC (E2PM), a multi-discipline Small Business Enterprise (SBE) with offices in Rockaway and Manasquan, NJ, provides innovative engineering, environmental, and project management solutions across NJ, NY, and PA. E2PM is seeking a Senior Architectural Historian to lead and oversee architectural resource evaluations, historic preservation planning, and Section 106 compliance efforts. This position requires an experienced professional with deep expertise in historic property assessments, regulatory compliance, and cultural resource management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in evaluating historic structures and landscapes, preparing technical reports, and consulting with regulatory agencies. As a key member of the Cultural Resource Department, the Senior Architectural Historian will manage multiple projects, mentor junior staff, and ensure high-quality deliverables that align with state and federal preservation laws. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·???????? Conduct and lead architectural resource surveys, historical assessments, and regulatory compliance reviews.

·???????? Evaluate historic structures and cultural landscapes within the framework of National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) criteria and state/local regulations.

·???????? Analyze project impacts on historic properties and develop mitigation strategies in coordination with clients and agencies.

·???????? Prepare high-quality technical reports, including National Register nominations, HABS/HAER documentation, historic structure reports, and preservation planning documents.

·???????? Ensure compliance with NHPA, Section 106, NEPA, CEQA, and other preservation laws.

·???????? Facilitate consultation processes with state and federal agencies, tribal organizations, and historic preservation offices.

·???????? Provide expert guidance on preservation planning, design guidelines, and treatment recommendations for historic properties.

·???????? Manage project budgets, deliverables, and schedules, ensuring timely completion of work.

·???????? Supervise and mentor junior staff, review technical reports, and contribute to team development.

·???????? Support business development initiatives, including proposal writing and client engagement.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

·???????? Master’s degree in Architectural History, Historic Preservation, Architecture, or a related field (PhD preferred).

·???????? 7-10 years of experience in architectural history, cultural resource management, or historic preservation, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

·???????? Expertise in NHPA, Section 106, CEQA, NEPA, and other preservation laws.

·???????? Meets the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualifications in Architectural History and have a strong understanding of the SOI Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and historic preservation regulations.

·???????? Proven ability to manage complex cultural resource projects, including surveys, evaluations, and compliance documentation.

·???????? Experience preparing NRHP nominations, HABS/HAER documentation, historic context studies, preservation plans, FCC filings, and E-106 submissions.

·???????? Skilled in client and regulatory agency consultation, Section 106 conflict resolution, and stakeholder communication.

·???????? Exceptional technical writing and project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.

·???????? Familiarity with GIS, CAD, and architectural documentation tools preferred.

·???????? Professional certifications or memberships (e.g., National Trust for Historic Preservation, ACRA) are a plus.

·???????? Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

·???????? Willingness to travel for fieldwork and project meetings across NJ, NY, and PA.

·???????? Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required to travel to project sites across NJ, NY, and PA as needed.
