Rios is an F2 from Savannah Pride (Victoria Johnsonbaugh), who will not be taking responsibility for her cat. The breeder insists that the owner pay for transport and the owner is surrendering due to financial woes. Hence Savannah Rescue must find Rios a home. ? Rios is a nearly 7 years old neutered F2 Savannah, he had an anal prolapse as a kitten that surgery repaired and regular miralax has kept his poops regular. Unfortunately, it has seemed to have given him an aversion to pooping in the litterbox. He faithfully urinates in the litterbox, but usually poops beside it (has also been known to use rugs nearby). ? The owner describes Rios as very much her cat and a cat that has always been nervous and easily stressed. She does not think he would be good in a house with children or dogs. She says that he has lived with other cats but has played too rough for them and so he ended up being a bully with them. She does think a similar energied cat or two might work though. The home does need to be quiet she feels, to reduce his anxiety and stress levels. ? We will not be able to offer shipping. Rios is not up to date with vaccinations, his adoption fee is $200 but we will reimburse for his first vet visit and FVRCP and Rabies vaccination.

Have you considered taking a strange cat through security and keeping hold of him as he freaks out (he is reported to be a very stressed/anxious cat so this strange experience will be difficult for him) and then he is said to be a 14-15 lb cat so I am not sure how easy it is to cram into an airline approved carrier. Have you ever seen the size, the carrier has to fit in the space under the seat in front of you. Have you looked at flights to get you close to Leesburg, FL? We try to work out if a home is a viable option, and I agree that it would be a squeeze to take a cat that size on a plane. If it is a short flight and to a perfect home then it is something to consider though.
