Re: Autopilot _ACU 100 OK_error msg_NO PILOT
Hate it when that happens. If you've
been on the group for a while, you'll know that I have no love for
Raymarine.
The first question I'd be asking is
whether the ACU is properly connected to SeaTalk. If you go deep
enough into the menus on your MFD, you will see a list of devices
that are on the network. If the ACU isn't there, you know where to
look for the problem. I'd also put a volt meter across V+ and
ground.
More modern MFDs allow you to take a
sample of the traffic on the network. See if the ACU is talking to
the ST-60 or I-70 and vice-versa.
Beyond that, I'd be stumped. Chuck at
Raymarine service is a good resource when you don't know what to
test next.

Re: Max prop coming out of reverse issue
I can't count how many times I have accidentally started the engine while still in reverse over the years. When sailing I always got the boat up to 5 knots or so, just out of habit from the old martec days. And I still drop it in reverse. No need to I suppose but it hasn't been an issue with my standard max prop.

Re: Resealing fixed port lights
I also replaced and resealed my fixed ports recently. Painter¡¯s tape and a flexible epoxy spreader are keys to getting a good bead. Avoid the temptation to overwork the silicone - I found one continuous sweep around the perimeter left the cleanest looking results.
?
BTW, I overbought the white Silpruf and have three unopened tubes (note - exp date Dec 2023!) available FREE to any Sabre board members for the cost of shipping. Private message me your info and we can work it out.

Re: Max prop coming out of reverse issue
The prop should feather all by itself and if it is feathered it won¡¯t rotate the shaft, after all that¡¯s the purpose of the feathering prop. It also shouldn¡¯t matter if it is forward or reverse to force it to feather.?
If it doesn¡¯t feather on its own, shift into gear for a moment to stop the spinning and then take it out of gear. Once it stops spinning it should feather. ?It is probably better to put it forward to stop the feathering rather than reverse as the transmission gears may mesh easier.?

Ice Trays for 1989 Seafrost refrigeration
Hi All,
?
One of my ice trays that attach to the side of the Seafrost refrigeration holding plate is leaking. There seems to be some sort of brown colored rubber seal along the joints connecting the 2 halves of the unit and the slow drip seems to be coming through this seal. I haven¡¯t contacted Sea Frost yet, just wondered if anyone was taking out an older Seafrost system and might have the ice trays left over.
