Re: Hum / buzz on signal #Buzz_Interference
Ok. I have the cyllindrical chokes that snap closed. anyway, I was asking where the best place on the cable is for them... near the wall-wart or near the device being powered.

Re: Hum / buzz on signal #Buzz_Interference
I have a couple of these power supplies. They're nice, but still would recommend putting an bead at the power supply end. It was still noisy with my SHARI.

Chris- Split core looks like 2 half eaten donuts.. one in each hand,? then put them together, then it looks like 1 donut.. Any cop gets that visualization..

Hey Chris- and all other's You know how some guys will tell you Collins, Motorola, Kenwood, Ten-Tec? is best..They and their followers are obnoxious about it?? Well, here's the "BEST" Raspberry PI

Re: Hum / buzz on signal #Buzz_Interference
For the "hum and buzz" interference, the ferrite core should be located at the supply.? I recommend 2 to 3 turns of the wall-wart cable through the type 31 mix (or Laird 28) core.

Re: Hum / buzz on signal #Buzz_Interference
Hi. Quick question: When putting ferrite chokes on wall-wart type power supplies, should they be located nearest the supply, or nearest the device being powered, such as the PI+shari? Thanks Chris

Re: SHARI Node not transmitting audio
Just so everyone has the final answer to my question. Steve (N8AR) spoke with me on the phone and clarified that the node was not transmitting RF or Audio. From that he recommended I check the solder

Re: TX audio/power save mode?
Not that I'm a Shari expert, but that doesn't sound like a power-save feature. I wonder if it's a throwback to an old cordless phone feature I once knew that provided the ring through the same

Re: SHARI Node not transmitting audio
Thanks, I checked the radio for proper frequencies and PL tones. Rebooted server, ran simple sub and reset freq, PL tones, rx and tx output levels. Nothing had changed in either the radio or the node

Re: TX audio/power save mode?
I have noticed the same thing. After about the second or third transmission it will stabilize back to a normal volume.

TX audio/power save mode?
Hi: I've noticed that, with the Shari's radio, if the node doesn't transmit for about five to ten seconds, the next transmission fades in and is kind of distorted for about half a second. My other

Re: SHARI Node not transmitting audio
Assuming you are using PL, are you sure your RX PL frequency on the radio you are listening to SHARI with has not changed?? Is this radio still in the simpex mode?? Also check the Transmit A level

SHARI Node not transmitting audio
My Allstar node had been running perfectly since I set it up a few weeks ago until today. Everything seems to be working properly except I can not hear any audio out.? Any ideas?? Loma KI5ISJ

Re: Raspberry Zero
HamVoIP won't run on a Pi Zero, as it is a different instruction set. I suppose you could convince ASL to run on it, though I'm not sure how well it would work. Probably not very well, since the Pi

Re: Raspberry Zero
Hello all, AllStar Link will not run smoothly on a Pi Zero W since that board is a single core one. AllStar require a multiple core processor. Pi 2/3/4 will do the trick. Alberto KP4AP 73'

Re: Raspberry Zero
Thanks Darrell. I understand what the usb connections do. I only have the one connected to my Pi3B right now. Don't see much need to have them both connected. Not really going to change frequencies

Re: Raspberry Zero
SHARI, has two USB ports one, for daily communication and one for programming the radio. You would have to swap back-and-forth to do those two functions or use a hub. I don¡¯t know even know if

Has anyone mated their SHARI to a Raspberry Zero? Any pitfalls? Suggestion? Thanks.

Re: Two Days In And Almost Ready To Sell It
For etc/resolv.conf, the 127.0.0.1 is localhost and checks itself. Try editing the resolve file like this (via ssh (putty/MobXterm whatever you like)? from command line enter: sudo nano

Re: SHARI Disappeared off WiFi network
UPDATE:? I have identified to problems, the first is a voltage drop that will be causing some problems with the SHARI but more importantly when I go to configure the WiFi it scans other SSIDs around
