Re: Setting Up My Shari PiHatU

Hi there its 2 version of allstar node?
?
It's ham over ip? and asl3?
?
On ham over ip? unfortunately you have to use the router to your raspberry pi then there you can set your WiFi? user name and password?
?
User root?
Password? is root then you have to do a first setup ect?
?
On asl3?
?
You can use pistar builder by taken your sd card out of your pi and put it in your PC? and droup your file on the drive and then ather you done that put your sd card back in to your pi and make a cup of tea or coffee and you should be able to find what ip address is assigned to your node im use a program called ip scanner on a PC? ?
?
Any more help please ask any errors please stop and ask ever if it's something so silly we all here to help everyone?

Setting Up My Shari PiHatU

I am at the point where I am trying to connect the Allstar node to my web browser. I looked to see if there was a wifi signal and there is not. So I believe I need to connect the node to my router with a CAT5 cable and let the router assign it an IP address. Then try to learn that address and then maybe I can connect my browser to the node so I can continue trying to program it.
Anyone know an easier way?
I have to work the next few days so this project will be on tne back burner¡..

Mike,

Thst goes on the hat board between the leds. It¡¯s a light shield so when you look at it he leds from outside there is no light bleed over. ?I believe that is not used anymore. ?Looks like you have a pi 4 Shari pi hat

Re: Powering Up My Shari PiHatU

You have a SHARI PiHat in the Neo case.
?
?
It uses a Pi4 so power is connected as shown in a previous post .? As shown in the photos on the web site, the piece in your photo is a LED light shield.? It slides between the green SMT LED and the yellow SMT LED (LED1 and LED2) so the colors do not bleed between them.
?
Also note in the photo, at the bottom left just above the word SHARI is a U and a V.? The one with the solder blob next to it indicates if your unit is UHF or VHF.

Re: Powering Up My Shari PiHatU

Now a new problem¡..
I removed the cover to look inside to see what model Pi is in there and a small part fell ?out. It is a small piece of black plastic with a slot in it, probably a spacer of some kind. ?I would like to know where it goes so I can replace the cover. ?

Re: Powering Up My Shari PiHatU

I am not sure which model Pi is in there. ?The ports look like the photo that KU5J posted. ?I thought the two ports to the right of the USC-C port were Micro USB ports but apparently they are Micro HDMI ports. ? Thank you for your response,.

The power plug is the micro USB next to the HDMI port on the PI 1, 2, and 3s.

Re: Powering Up My Shari PiHatU

It sounds like you have the Pi4. If so, two of those three connectors are micro HDMI ports. The one nearest the end is a USB-C power port.

Powering Up My Shari PiHatU

?Hi All¡.
Just pixked this goodie up at the regional hamfester in NH earlier this month. I lnow little about it but found some documentation on the web site. I seem to have missed where I plug in the power supply to power it up.
Can someone please tell me where do I plug in the microusb cable? There are three connectors on the side of the case. I sure don't want to use the wrong one.

Issac, it looks like telemdefault= 1 has worked in my situation.??
Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Turn Off Telemetry from Connected Network Nodes on ASL 3

Hi Bill,
You could try?
telemdefault= 0 or 1 (0 = completely disable connection announcements)

In the rpt.conf file

Is duplex set to 1 in rpt.conf?

Subject: [SHARI] Turn Off Telemetry from Connected Network Nodes on ASL 3
?
Howdy. I recently upgraded my Shari Node to AllStarLink 3.? I love the additional features, but I can't seem to turn off the telemetry announcing connections from nodes on a connected network. I wish to keep the telemetry on my Shari Node announcing local connections, but turn off distant nodes telemetry.
?
I didn't have that issue on HamVoip. I have done quite a bit of research online, but can't seem to find a solution. I assume it is in rpt.conf file?
Tnx for any suggestions.

Re: Change voice ID to CW

In your rpt.conf file located in the /etc/asterisk directory you can run the following command: ?nano rpt.conf ?and look for the following
to change voice to CW just remove the ; from in front of the line for CW and place a ; in front of the line for voice. make sure you callsign is in the proper spot

Hamvoip: ?Voice to CW change

;idtalkover=/etc/asterisk/local/node-id ? ? ?; Main ID voice
;idrecording=|iDE yourcallsign ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ; Main ID CW
;idtalkover=|iDE yourcallsign ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ; ID when signal present
;idrecording=/etc/asterisk/local/node-id

ASL3:
idrecording = |iyourcallsign ? ? ? ? ? ? ?; id recording or CW morse string
idtalkover = /etc/asterisk/local/NewID ? ?; Talkover ID (optional) default is none Voice ID
idtime = 540000 ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ; id interval time (in ms) (optional) Default 5 minutes (300000 ms)
politeid = 30000 ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?; time in milliseconds before ID timer expires to try and ID in the tail. (optional, default 30000)

Re: Simple Script to Concatenate and Archive Node Audio?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Technically, archiveaudio saves either at 8 kHz g711 ulaw, raw, with no headers, which it calls PCM, for some reason, or 8 kHz GSM wav. Because GSM is lossy and full of artifacts, I don't use that.

The one-liner I posted here doesn't do any file conversion. It simply concatenates the raw data and puts a valid wav header on it, resulting in a G711 wav file, half the size of 8 kHz 16-bit mono PCM, at 64 kbps. The audio is unchanged from how the node captured it, I.E. no additional transcoding to some other audio format.
