Re: Trouble connecting to ALS3 node
开云体育I used the repeaterbook app and checked the frequency I wanted to useand 5 MHz up and down within 25 miles of my site. All good here. On 2024-11-26 09:39, Jon Spreha via

As a new ham, myself.... other than listening to your ALSN frequency with no PL tone and checking repeaterbook in your area, is there any other thing we should do to stay out of the "hardway" column ?
?
I did notice when I setup my hotspot sans a PL tone that I was getting some stray signals into my node, not full conversations just some noise.? I tossed a PL tone on it and I have yet to hear any noise.? ? ?This just reminded me to remove the RX tone on my HT to make sure I am not hearing anything.? Jon N7JMS |
Re: Trouble connecting to ALS3 node
开云体育It's worth mentioning that 446.1 mHz is indeed an active repeater input in some places. Someone in Brooklyn who had a SHARI and didn't change it's
frequency found that out the hard way once. On 11/25/2024 12:40 AM, N8AR via

Re: LCD display
开云体育I like small displays on pi-star hotspots (0.96") so I can confirm it's on, running normally, internet connected, and what the ip address is. This is most important on a hotspot I may move between locations.Ken, N2VIP On Nov 23, 2024, at 10:37, Jim N6KRJ via groups.io <n6krj@...> wrote:

Re: LCD display
开云体育Such a display could essentially show the same info that is available in Supermon, Allmon, or lsnode. If it were a nextion it would be possible to also enable simple commands like link and unlink. ? I have such an interface on my mmdvm hotspot, it’s not that useful. Mostly a novelty. ?I only use it to power cycle the node.? Honestly if you’re somewhere where you can stare at your node, you can just have a cheap tablet or old smartphone with a browser available to just access Supermon/Allmon/Allscan/etc.? /jim N6KRJ? ---- On Fri, 22 Nov 2024 20:10:15 -0800 Ken N2VIP<ken@...> wrote ----
