I am aware. That is why I disabled the echolimk module on the other node, and forwarded the port range to the new one when testing.

What SA818 settings do you use for these simpleusb.conf and
usbradio.conf files?

Greetings:
Has anyone gotten the echolink module in ASL3 working?
Mine downloads the database, as shown by
asterisk -rx "echolink dbdump"
however, any call results in a message like this.
asl508422*CLI>
rpt fun 508422 *33009999 *CLI>???? -- Call for node el0/009999 on echolink/el0-0, failed. Node not found in database.
However, if I do
asterisk -rx "echolink dbdump" | grep 9999
root@asl508422:/home/patrick# asterisk -rx "echolink dbdump" | grep 9999 899993|SK6RIC-R|70.34.202.109 9999|*ECHOTEST*|54.176.61.77 999972|KJ6YSS|44.31.127.3 root@asl508422:/home/patrick#
All those nodes matched the non-explicit pattern of 9999, but *echotest* was listed, as you can see above.
Though I'm pretty sure my firewall is configured correctly (tested with another known-working HamVoIP chan_echolink module, only replacing the IP address), incoming connections never seem to make it to the server in the first place.
If I change the forwarded IP back to the HamVoIP node and re-enable it's echolink module (yes, I made sure it was off while the ASL3 chan_echolink was enabled), I can make outgoing connections and accept incoming ones on that node, so I'm not sure what's going on there.
If I do
netstat -n --udp --listen
to list all UDP listeners, among those are:
udp??????? 0????? 0 0.0.0.0:5198??????????? 0.0.0.0:* udp??????? 0????? 0 0.0.0.0:5199??????????? 0.0.0.0:*
so that looks good.

Are you using simpleusb or usbradio?
In either case, set ctcssfrom to usb in the tune menu. usbradio
defaults to DSP, and I don't remember what simpleusb does, but I
had to change ctcssfrom on both simpleusb and usbradio to make
them respond to PTT from a radio.
BTW, on ASL3, I prefer using usbradio, though there is more
involved to get it tuned just right, such as, in the case of the
sa818 where it is unnecessary, turning down the CTCSS output and
adding a delay to eliminate squelch tail. Simpleusb has some
aliasing on the high frequencies that usbradio doesn't.

My on going issue is getting a radio talk to the node.
Tansieve APPS works to connect to the node. DTMF keys aren't
active. Not concerned about that @ this time.
My HT dialed into the frequency configured on the Shari Pi -
broadcasts the MORSE code and other connections.
Just can't transmit with a radio.
Gone through the config- files over and over agian.
I really believe I'm missing something simple. I lack
programing knowledge to understand some variables.
I've been going through the error logs.

If your node is not being keyed up by your radio -
If you have the SA818 setup to use CTCSS be sure to enable it on your radio..
Make sure that Item J in simpleUSB is "no".? [i.e.Change CTCSS From (currently 'no')]
Also be sure that Item B) Toggle RX Boost is disabled
|
Using the "Interface Tune CLI" for your node, check the "CTCSS From" setting. ?I believe that this should be set to 'no'.

i have mine working with shari uhf on raspberry pi 3b+ on latest ASL3 pi image. In terminal type: sudo asl-find-sound
does the output match whats in your /etc/asterisk/simpleusb.conf file?

Try restarting Asterisk from the ASL-menu
