Ok, I¡¯ll give that a shot, thanks.. The antenna is the one included with the kit from kits4hams, so I didn¡¯t think it would be a problem since others seem to be running the same device and I¡¯ve not seen a lot of issues with it.

Experiment with different antennas, particularly a half wave. Try getting a small mag mount with a cable and put the antenna further away from the node.
