Re: 4/6m Shari node

I think ¡°most¡± is a stretch, *some* is probably a better characterization. The individual asking the question never mentioned DVSwitch and you wouldn¡¯t be connecting any of those modes via a 4/6M transceiver. ?However that shouldn¡¯t eliminate use of DVSwitch - one would utilize DVS as a bridge between ASL and other networks. ?Now to cross mode from ASL to say DMR well would require something like a BlueDV dongle so you have dedicated AMBEE encoding.

Yes I know about Shari and how it works. you also have to realize that most would be running a DVSwitch server on it as well to allow Digital modes.?

None of that¡¯s relevant for Allstar. ?Allstar is analog over a digital network - you could theoretically turn any transceiver into an Allstar node, it¡¯s not limited to UV frequencies like say DMR, P25, and other all digital modes.?

DMR does not work below 72 Mhz due to bandwidth.? I would assume P25 and NXDN are in the same boat.

Hi all, first post...

I represent a small group of users who would love to have Shari nodes that run on 6m/4m instead of 2m/70cm, is that possible at all, do they exist?? I know the Shari uses an SA818 which doesn't cover these frequencies but does anybody have any ideas where we can start??
