I used a URI connected to a Mac Mini running Debian/ASL for a
while, until that system died a few weeks ago, just before I went
on vacation. I had a Yaesu HRI-200 connected to the other side of
the URI to provide an analog Allstar to WIRES x bridge, which
could have just as easily been a Yaesu mobile radio as well, since
they have the same pin-out.
I just bought a cheap used Intel NUC fifth generation Core I3
($50 on Ebay) to replace it. Saw a bunch of HP thin clients for
about the same price. With something like a DINAH, a DRA or a URI,
you can use any number of radios.

I have a friend who has a 6m node. ?It¡¯s not a SHARI. He
uses a HP or Dell thin client computer running Linux and
AllstarLink with a masters communications DRA along to
connect a 6M transceiver.?
NR9V has recently also published something similar which
should be translatable to 4/6M applications - just swap a
capable radio.?
Overall both of these solutions work better (and can be
cheaper) than going SHARI route given scarcity of Pi¡¯s.?
Hi all, first post...
I represent a small group of users who would love to have
Shari nodes that run on 6m/4m instead of 2m/70cm, is that
possible at all, do they exist?? I know the Shari uses an
SA818 which doesn't cover these frequencies but does
anybody have any ideas where we can start??
