Re: Windows 11: Time To Upgrade?

Funny thing is I ordered a win 10 Microsoft laptop from Microsoft 1 year before win 11 came out.? I would have waited had I known, but this was the best one they made at the time, win11 came out and this laptop does not meet requirements for win11.? Go figure.

However, the FAQ section specifically answers Microsoft's Windows 11 Upgrade FAQ with some insights of our own. Feel free to forward it to anyone who might have questions or concerns about the upgrade!?

Personally, my HAM radio laptop is a Surface Pro Gen 3, which is not eligible for the upgrade, and I'll likely be stretching it for a couple of years more.?

Re: Windows 11: Time To Upgrade?

Windows 11 re: Ham Radio ..
?The only issue I¡¯ve run into is .. if you¡¯re running WiresX with the SCU20 cable.
The older Prolific (PL-2303TA if memory serves me) USB to COM chip is no longer supported in recent updates to Win11 (some say back dating the driver works .. not for me). There¡¯s a couple working solutions other than buying the new Yeasu SCU 58 cable.
1) the RT Systems USB-77 radio programming cable,
2) Amazon/Chinese cable for Yeasu 100/200/300/400/500 that has the Prolific PL2303GT chip
