I hate ZS - had them on a triumph TR7 years ago and hated them then - 40 years later I still hate them!

My S1 is in pieces…. STILL, although I’m working on it slowly. It’s black, and no A/C.

I drive my S2 JPS occasionally in the fall, winter, and spring. A/C isn’t working right now, and it’s usually too hot out, and the sun is brutal on a black fiberglass car, in the summer. I’m going to a car show on 13 April, and a bit worried about having it in the sun for several hours. So, I’m the opposite of all you people up north, who put your cars away for the winter.

While we are on the subject, I’ll need to rehang my doors one of these days. I was thinking of some padding (maybe a thick towel) between the door and the sill, then placing the door into the slot, centering it, then tightening the bolts. Of course, when it is opened, it’s going to sag just a bit, so I’d use the procedure with a scissor jack or screw jackstand.

How does that sound?

I'd suggest placing a scissor jack under the lower surface of the open door before loosening anything, not the edge but the largely horizontal surface and with a block of wood and padding for protection. Adjust the jack to apply a judicious measure of supporting force then ease the fasteners looser just enough so it's possible to shift the door. Approach that with patience, it's quicker and safer than just loosening it all off fully and juggling the door. As remarked below the trimmed door is quite heavy, therefore a handful to manipulate.
