latest FS items from BBB!
开云体育Since much of our area is frozen and somewhat non-functioning so I'll use that time for this, in making an announcement that might interest you. For the past several years I've resold items that
friends and families have entrusted to me for resale for them.?
Along with some of my personal items I've listed them in small
groups.? Sometimes these items have sold within minutes while
others seem to remain as future antiques.? I've charged a
commission for my time but return the bulk of the sales back to
the owners!? I don't have a large 'stock' of items, but I
think I've repeatedly send items to those I've never met so we
have done business with a virtual handshake working out
extremely well. However like many we've also noticed some issues with items being delivered late--sometimes the fault is with us, but more generally with the shipping service.? The present head of the PO caused some distress some years ago and now that he about to end his service coupled with the present administration's trend of slashing things. My thoughts lead me to think that things won't get better anytime soon.? So I'm at the point of saying--it just ain't worth it! So with the idea of still servicing my 'clients' and those who can use these things, I'll list all the remaining items again in the coming days. With rare exceptions this will just be a listings without photos.? If you need photos of past listings, the archives probably has them. ?Bob Werre PhotoTraxx The BBB |
I’ve had issues, written the head of the NY Post Office, conversed with congressional office and have gotten no satisfaction. The local carrier seems to know how to solve some of the issues but there is no shortage poor management, absenteeism and apathy.
I’d say mail delivery should be privatized. Keep the best, hire the best. |

Private carriers like UPS and Fed Ex already exist. If unhappy with the postal service use them. If they are too expensive, why imagine a private for profit USPS would be cheaper?

If the Trump government wants to "privatise" something, it is very likely not to the benefit of any of us.
?
I propose this, based on my having worked for a government, the Port Authority of NY & NJ.? PANYNJ does not get taxpayer funds, but relies only on its own revenues.? ? They own/operate the airports, port facilites, tunnels & bridges, real estate, etc.? Regarding our own train interests, they have 2 railroads;? PATH, which carries commuters from NJ to New York; and NYNJ Rail, which floats railroad cars across the harbor.
?
To privatise, Congress would have to pass legislation to eliminate the current Postal Service.? Our federal government would first have to write an RFQ, a request for qualifications.? This is publicly advertized and is to prepare a list of firms that would be judged to be qualified to operate a postal service.? A request for bids to operate the USPS would then be advertised to those who have been judged to be qualified.? The award would be to high bidder, to operate for 5 years with a possible 5 year renewal, approved by Congress and signed by the President.? So no "funny business" could go on.? And the public would not be "stuck" with a non-performer forever.? Existing USPS workers would be able to keep their jobs as employees of the new management firm, and retain their current pensions and benefits.? This way we(the public) would see if a new operator would be able to do any better on the same terms as now.? We eliminate this business of Musk/Trump being able to "fire" everyone, as they seem to like to do.? In any case, a process to interview and qualify 600,000 new workers might prove to be impossible.
?
Excuse me if this seems long.? It has not that much to do with our "S" hobby, but I felt that I should speak up. |
Let’s see FedEx or UPS deliver anything for $0.73. Ted Z On Sat, Feb 22, 2025 at 8:29?PM John Hutnick via <johnhutnick=[email protected]> wrote:

开云体育?Although, like most I do complain
about delivery services--late lost or expensive!? Today i was
pleasantly surprised about a item that I bought late Friday
evening and was dropped off a few hours ago! ?
I had bought a used Weller soldering
station at a train show.? When I got it home, I realized that the
original iron/probe was the wrong kind.? So I turned around and
purchased the correct one, as indicated by a multi wire plug.? It
arrived actually within less than one day!? The seller was
Zoro-=-,new to me but shipping was included in the selling price.?
I missed the actual delivery but a box was next to the front door,
just a bit damp from the sporadic rain
