Re: Minimum Radius List
Sometimes I love telling banalities. Lay your radii as big as you can afford them. Many years ago I bought a german streamline steamer, a BR 06. Can be seen here:

Re: River Raisin B&A tender
I took a look at a couple photos of the B&M's Lima-built P-4 4-6-2's (1934.) Now, I don't have dimensions of the B&A tender to compare with, so I'm only comparing the shape of the top and counting the

Andre,You are correct it will be installed on a SSL&S frame. The original AF linkage will not be used either. It will be replaced by SSL&S linkage, and new leading and trailing trucks.?Rob

What exactly is going on here with these two boilers?
At first I thought an AF boiler was being cleaned up to be detailed with free standing piping, but then I noticed that the one boiler has

Re: AF to scale - SSL&S Hudsons - B&A RRM tenders
My original question was what B&A loco could use this tender.? The answer is an H10 2-8-2.? Now of course we can find any number of engines with similar tenders.? But for $250, I would not be

Minimum Radius List
Has anyone compiled a list of the required minimum track radius that a particular locomotive must have? For instance an American models Pacific vs an AF/converted SSL&S Pacific? Seems like this would

I've been told that the SP swapped tenders fairly often--especially the later years!

AF to scale
Question, I was asked if I had what it would take to convert AF Hudsons and Northerns to scale. I know that SSL&S once offered these conversions. So asking for a friend whom I don't believe is on this

Bill,
Your Pacific looks good just the way it is.
All this talk about what this tender would go behind is funny to me. That tender is a really good looking well rounded and proportioned tender. It

I had a chance to take a close look at one of these Mike's, with the
intention of converting it to scale. It's a beautiful model. I see that the
two center axles have blind tires. Only the 1st and 4th

Good to have that kind of machine shop and the skills to use it. Very few commercial options otherwise.

Re: River Raisin B&A tender
I just emailed Rusty that I thought it would look good behind my USRA Light
4-6-2, but the last thing I need is more tenders... I do have the drop
equalized trucks for the original tender behind it
