Re: Paul Vaughn

I new Paul for a number of years. He had a Sn3 railroad in his home basement. He was a member of the Olymic Moudular group which I was a member. I traveled with him to many Model RR events events. He was an unique person and will be missed by me and the PNW model RR community.?

I don’t think I ever met Paul. He was on some of my Tuesday night Zoom for a while when I first started it. He frequently was talking about or partially building some really obscure project.

I am not sure what I am going to do. I am still trying to dial in my printers. I might offer a kit of the nose and new open fan grills.

way to go.? You are turning a sow's ear into a silk purse as the saying goes.

Very sorry to hear of Paul Vaughn's passing. We finally met him in Juneau Alaska while we were on a cruise in 2018. A nice guy. He will be missed, regards John & Doreen Agnew.?

Time flies around here. There's also New Haven, Penn Central & Conrail paint around the station.
At times, I've thought about taking a stab at doing the Hickory Creek, using the AM car.

That does leave open a Mountain type 4-8-2 which has larger drivers. They were dual purpose locomotives.

I was not assigning any blame to you, either for this one casting or for the package of other brass detail parts.? The Clicks owned this for some years and things doubtless got mixed around during that time.
Unlikely as it is, I am hoping someone will turn up what I need.? As for the other missing parts, the Des Plaines stanchions are better, as probably also a BTS brakewheel (although it would still be nice for the package to turn up).? Missing things may have gotten into someone else's box or just plain lost before you got the collection.

When I took over the sale of Billy's things, I tried to keep things boxed as they were originally, but obviously that didn't happen or it was that way from the get-go.? I'm now to the point with a couple of exceptions of not finding many excess or stray parts.? I'm also at a disadvantage of not knowing everything that should be in every? box.
In a couple of cases, I have body kits, but really, whats in a body kit, and likewise the drive kits??

Surely there are others out there, and there must be stray parts from the dispersal of the Steam Depot line after John Chapell died—the problem is finding them.??
I think I've read or heard that his daughter dealt with his inventory after his death, but no further details.? Can anyone provide more information?

Re: Chasing the Metro North Employee Holiday Train; 12/03/2024

This was great. I've ridden this line regularly since 1973 as my in-laws lived in Katonah NY which is on this line north of White Plains. Watched the evolution of the equipment found on this line during that time. It has been transformed from the PennCentral days.

Thanks for sharing this.

Jim,, Jamie

I thought the NYC observation car looked so much like the AM boat tail car--I thought the GN car used was a good choice for all those paint choices.? My UP version only being a stand in as they only had two of them!

My better half and I rode the Metro North line from "someplace" (near where the Mark family lived) into the city for a few hours, and managed to find our way back to our hotel.? We had a nice ride, but didn't have a clue what was happening as it was dark the entire time.?
