That's going to be the quandary if and when ScaleTrains offers a locomotive.? Do they even bother trying for the AC/Hirail market of just offer ESU and force the "legacy" AC folks convert or struggle with yet another system?

Lionel finally committed to DCC compatibility for the high end Legacy S stuff in 2012.? We see how well that worked out.? MTH forced their DCS (with DCC compatibility) upon S and then left the building.

Simple may be better.? Leave it to the individual.? That's how AM is doing it.

FYI: I have loco's with Lionel's system, MTH's system and good ol' regular DCC along with DC.? I tend to run my conventional DC stuff the most.? I won't turn down buying a loco with all the electronic whoo-haa, but it's not a requirement for me.
