I HAD Gilbert American Flyer so it is not a totally negative subject for me.
?
But in about 1985 I thought many times I would switch to S (I was in HO at that time) if only it had DC operation with Kadee couplers etc. Just BIGGER HO¡.. In 1987 I saw S in its best scale form at that time and left HO immediately.
?
So likely none of us are still driving 1950s cars as their daily driver. It is just evolution.
?
HO has evolved greatly for the better since 1987 but S Scale largely has not. So I still WANT exactly what HO has but just bigger as S. What is wrong with trying to make it happen even if it is only trying to inspire others?
?
And for Ben (and maybe others) 25+ years ago the Yahoo list was full of ¡°I wish we had¡± posts that drove me completely crazy. I said enough already. I wished we had the PRR X29. Well I DID it I made it happen along with the PRR G26. It was a huge money loser that my friend absorbed. I am now lucky enough to be in my second expensive makes no sense S project that will make my brass car importing days look like an expensive Burger King lunch.
?
Failure is guaranteed if you don¡¯t try. If I can do it so can others.

Thank You, Bill Lane
