Early on, AM's scale locomotives didn't come with Kadee's.? Somewhere along the line they started to include a pack of Kadees, probably somewhere in the high 2000's.? My Texas Special E8's, T&P Geeps and MP RS-11's all had a pack included.? When I bought one of the last sets of UP E8's in 2018, they installed the Kadees on the truck talgo arms.
