Jace,?
I followed a Troxell work around by
using simple staples re-bent into the correct shape.? We drilled
new mounting holes near the edge the old broken one and fresh
flooring--a bit trickey but with super glue they are very sturdy.?
Very cheap too!
Or you could have my friend Rusty the
Brassbasher cast you a mess of them.? I understand he made
replacements for the PRS reefers and I know he made excellent long
drop step additions to the AM baggage/RPO cars despite being
designed for the Southwind cars!?

For me, these have always been the Achilles heel of the kit
(I've never owned any of their more recent ready-to-run cars, so
I don't know?
whether it was ever corrected).? They are fragile and thinnest
where they most need strength.??
Has anyone come up with a solution or a replacement?? Is there
enough interest for Jim King to develop resin printed
replacements, as he did for the PRS refrigerator cars?
