NYE
5
Hello!!! I will be running a zoom for New Years Eve. To get all the time zones, it could start... well, what would be a good time for our Australian friends?? the thing is... no WAY can *I* sit all day on the computer, and if i start it up, it shuts down in 40 minutes if not active. The trick is for folks to come on and message a few people you know and invite them in. If everyone just 'checks in' and leaves if no one is there, you most likely won't see anyone at all. If we have interested people to just say, yeah, i will keep my computer zooming from This oclock to that oclock (like i will say, 7pm to 10pm EST for me), we may get more folks involved. I certainly do NOT want to take you away from family and friends, but MANY of us are not involved, for whatever reason, and this gives the opportunity to chat for a bit with other Rusties, at least. AND... play music (if you want to know how to sound good, ask and i will either show you, tell you, or find someone who knows your operating system to help) Hope to see some of you December 31st!!! Marilyn Miller is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting. Join Zoom Meeting [https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82913401552...](https://www.google.com/url...) Holidays on Zoom!
3
Happy Holidays!! As some of you may know, I host a zoom, mostly Rusties, on Tuesdays evenings. Because tonight is Christmas Eve, people are quite busy, so I have decided to move it to Wednesday. Also, look for an invite next week for NYE, unless I make another plan... and in January, I will start showing the blurays from Vol III on Sunday afternoons my time. Anyway, here is the invite for tomorrow: After a lot of consideration, and the fact that only one person i asked would 'stop by' tonight for zoom, i decided to move it to Christmas Evening... dec 25th... wednesday... tomorrow evening at 7pm est. i will keep the computer on, but i will likely be reading on the couch in the living room, so when you come on, call for me and i will come to the computer!!! Neil Young In Berlin blu ray
5
Finally watched this and here's some thoughts: Ben Keith really shreds on the steel guitar on Little Thing Called Love. I always loved it on the Trans album, but it gets a whole new dimension live. Nils Lofgren does some great interpretive kind of dancing in Transformer Man. I didn't realize that Nils and Neil trade off on the lead vocals on some of the computerized songs. I had always assumed it was Neil doing all of it. It's a real treat to see Bruce Palmer. He has this amused, Peter Tork kind of vibe. Ian silver wings of morning

The new Iain Matthews compilation got reviewed on Allmusic.com Friday, and Ron was specifically mentioned. It's probably not the first time, but it's the first time I noticed. Well done!! https://www.allmusic.com/album/thro-my-eyes-the-vertigo-years-1970-1974-mw0004396146 -- bobg

Dinosaur Jr. - 12/6/24 (NNC)
Sorry for the non - Neil content, but I know there's some Dinosaur Jr. fans here (and J Mascis has been compared to Neil). Their concert last Friday (at the Bellwether in L.A.) was particularly good, they played the entire album Where You Been, and had some guest vocalists and musicians, and played some other classics and cover of I Wanna Be Your Dog and Just Like Heaven. Here's the download link - It's in FLAC. https://we.tl/t-QAktyOIST6 Setlist at https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/dinosaur-jr/2024/the-bellwether-los-angeles-ca-6b50ba72.html Ian silver wings of morning

Welcome to the Big Room
Hi all Been a while. Hope you are all well. Tried to explain to a friend who loves Neil but never heard of the blue notes tour. So I put Bluenote café on for him and it's absolutely brilliant. Forgot how good it was. Not heard it for a while. He was blown away. Gutted I was to young to see it. Take care. Life is a fragile journey and give the people you love a hug every day before you can't. Will X

Lurker Jef Christmas CD's

Hello Rusties Far and Near! Lurker Jef coming up from Lurkdom with a Christmas Season Offer. Cleaning out a box in a closet, I came upon the following CD's I made a few years back. If you are able to spin CD's and are interested in any of these in particular, email me off list (woole@...) and let me know which shows interest you, and I'll send them out: one show per person, and first come first served. So let me know your minds! A Treasure blu ray
Just watched the Treasure blu ray from the Archives 3 and was reminded of a few things: Some of these songs are so good in setting a mood. I felt like I was watching a movie. The songs Bound For Glory, Southern Pacific and Grey Riders in particuar. Neil looks so young. The musicians are amazing. Particularly Ben Keith, Rufus Thibodeaux and Anthony Crawford (who really goes off on the banjo). At times, Neil just looks over at them with this big smile. The video is a bit frustrating. At times it cuts out completely and they just show the poster instead. There's a good variety between slower and faster songs. Neil's voice sounds great. Ian silver wings of morning
