Re: Joni Mitchell Hollywood Bowl ?
Might look among the Brandi Carlile fan base would be my suggestion. ? Let me know if you find anything. I am sure these have all been professionally recorded and hope they get out and about sometime soon. On Mon, Nov 11, 2024 at 8:02?AM Jim McQuaid via <jimmcquaid=[email protected]> wrote:

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI need to watch this.?I didn¡¯t go to many concerts, still don¡¯t, but wish I had.? The 80¡¯s were big for me, graduated high school in 82, Old Ways in 83 or 4, when I really figured out who Neil was and started buying all his albums.? Landing on Water and Kraftwerk¡¯s Electric Cafe in 86 blew me away! Moved to Idaho to farm in 89, loving every life in Idaho but really missed the good music (and the ocean!) of the San Francisco area¡ Russell Courtenay Solemnity and profundity are sublime in inequity.? Re: Help Needed (No Neil Content)
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI¡¯ve used Mac for years but had my main iTunes library on a PC. A real pain in the neck.?I will try the suggestions in this thread.? Then that Windows machine (my LAST) had a ¡®registry error¡¯ in 2016 so bad it took down the backup too!? I have the backup from six months before with hundreds of albums ripped using Exact Audio Copy, the only way back then. Still have to set the drive up as an external music storage device but not sure how to do it and have it accessible from iPhones, Macs, PCs and Androids around the house.? iTunes also messed up and deleted all my songs off my iPhone 6 and since the originals were on that Windows machine, I no longer have music on my phone.? Recently my wife lost all her music off her iPhone 13 after a backup too. We don¡¯t use iTunes or Music as it is now called.? Russell Courtenay Solemnity and profundity are sublime in inequity.? Re: Help Needed (No Neil Content)
I use Subsonic. It's 12 bucks a year, and it turns your computer into a web music server and you can access your music anywhere. You have complete control. If you file a song within a folder/artist .. that's where it will turn up. I've never had a problem with the sound quality, but I'm no audiophile, and if you're used to iTunes (which I think is pretty good) this may be something to consider. It has lots of neat features, like showing your recently added music, you can 'star' your favorites for easy access, you can make playlists.?
You can also share a link to your music server and invite your friends ...
I'm sure there are tons of other cool features, but those are the main ones I use. Happy Listening! |
Re: Article on In A Rusted Out Garage
Yeah, Neil was in great shape on that tour. Here is my perspective on a few things about that particular show. At the time, I lived a couple hours away from The Cow Palace so I bought tickets to the show and attended. I did hear that in addition to the pay-per-view cable broadcast that the audio would be broadcast from my local radio station. I hooked up my VCR to my receiver and set it up to record audio from the radio broadcast before I left for the show. When I got back, I transferred the recording to cassette tape. For the first and only time, I taped a show. It was pretty cool to have. I particularly enjoyed the unreleased songs that would not come out until next year's Life album. This was the last show of the tour and I do believe it was the last time Neil performed Trans songs using a vocoder onstage ever.

Article on In A Rusted Out Garage
After watching the In A Rusted Out Garage blu ray, I was curious to read more about it. There's some good info at
?
I had seen this in bits and pieces, but never the whole thing. It's almost 3 hours long, and has not only concert footage, but behind the scenes stuff with the host "Dan Clear" and some videos from Landing On Water (People On The Street and Pressure). I was reminded of how much that album meant to me, on a deep, serious level, so it was interesting to see the rather comical videos. Another thing that I noticed is just how animated Neil is, jumping around during some of the songs onstage, and dancing around in the videos. I've never seen him moving around that much.

Re: Help Needed (No Neil Content)
I¡¯ve encountered the same problem, has everything to do with Apple Music¡one of the most annoying thing was, when changing the artwork, all of a sudden the last 30 seconds of a track got repeated in the file. The thing that helps (well, kinda)¡when you import an album, let iTunes take a few seconds/minutes to analyze, delete the album when done, and import again. B. Podde Illustrator? Help Needed (No Neil Content)
I have been using iTunes for many years to categorize and store my music collection.?
iTunes has gotten to the point where it is unreliable and many artists and songs are "chopped up"
and will show up in different locations.? For example, a Government Mule disc is filed correctly?
with the exception of one song which shows up as being undocumented and is at another location in iTunes.?
This has recently become more of an issue than ever before.
I'm just curious.? How do other list members store their music on the computer for easy listening access??
I have been a Mac user for many years and I don't know where to turn for help.
Thanks so much for any info.

CSNY Take my hand (live 1970) - Re: Live At Filmore East, 1969
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý? Dear Rusties, ? Last week I got the CD (why only one?) of Live at Fillmore East 1969, and have listened to it multiple times with much enjoyment. I tried to find it on Spotify (yes!) but also found a recording of the second tour in 1970, called ¡°Take my hand¡±. You can also find it on YouTube. Personally, this series of concerts is for me the best CSNY produced, foremost because of the guitar duels of Stills and Young, never equally repeated before or afterwards. 4 Way Street is fine, but you always want more. I have somewhere copies of the Halverson/Barncard-tapes, but this ¡®Take my hand¡¯ recording is a fine addition; the quality is rather good and it¡¯s available right away. Unfortunately there are no notes about this recording, and I¡¯ve nowhere found a CD-version. Can anybody provide more information about this recording and the concert from which it is? Are there more concert recordings from the 1970 tour available? ? Regards, Fons. ? ? ? |
Re: Live At Filmore East, 1969
As is usual with these kinda Neil-related releases, it¡¯s probably a mixture of two shows. The early and late shows of Sept 20. At the late show it would have been cool to hear included Neil¡¯s solo BA or the group version of Get Together segueing into FTCOF. Or the half-try at Donovan¡¯s Happiness Runs. Those would have been interesting to hear, but instead I fear they tiptoed around the songs, some already exposed to us on 4WS and a couple that were not.?

Re: Live At Filmore East, 1969
As I recall today, I had both 69 shows which I was able to pry from a trader who got them from a source he said. They were said to be soundboard?recordings. I was told that I could not share it for some reason. Well, I did put it in circulation but you did not get it from me....As I recall, one of the shows was missing 4 songs. My hard drive?has gone missing in a rebuild job. Hate to accuse anybody but when they take your stuff for storage and it comes back missing. This is the reason I believe in trading and sharing. So when your hd crashes or burns or whatever, you can go to your trading buddies. One of my backup partners and I did restore each other's collections in the past. We shared all our shows. But when I found?out I had a missing HD a year ago or so, I tried to contact him but only to find out he had passed?away. Thanks! That reminds me -- has anyone here ever found a recording of the last show from that tour, at Pine Knob in Michigan on May 22?? I remember reading here that it was being traded by the elite traders or something a while back..? JC On Fri, Nov 1, 2024 at 11:03?AM Jim McQuaid via <jimmcquaid=[email protected]> wrote:

NYCH Toronto May 20, 2024 We Transfer
Hi all,
?I was looking for this download a month or so ago. I ended up in a huge(?) back and forth with DIME blah blah blah.
I've downloaded the show and here is a We Transfer link to the show files. Seems it will expire Nov 4th so if you want it click now.
My first time offering on We Transfer so YMMV.
