Re: Favorite Sex Music

<PRE>All time hands down favorite: Kashmir by Led Zeppelin. Even the length
of the
song seems just about right. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Nah, "Mountain Jam Parts 1 and 2" is about the right length. But it's
a hassle to stop in the middle to turn the record over.

NEIL'S BACKIN BAND @ FARM AID '02

Hey,
Does anyone know who Neil's backing band will be? Or will he be solo? Are
Pegi and Astrid expected to be there?

I'd like to make a setlist guess... but I realized it was impossible without
the above information!!!

Thanks, Matt

sex music...

Well if you wanna get it on, you need Van Morrison on the
stereo...Got a heavy date? Play "Astral weeks" when you get her
home and it's all over. hehe. As far as Neil goes...for some
reason I just had a flash of Love to Burn - the Weld version - as a
pretty hot n heavy jam....."let your guard down....let your guard
down...." with those huge guitars laying down that thick, bassy
riff.....hmmm, cold shower time for me.

Does anyone know any info that would narrow down the possibilities of who the man is going to be playing with at Farm Aid? Sorry if this kind of thing has been posted several times but I've been away. Thanks, and hope to see many of you at the show in the rust row- Joe

Bruce Springsteen will be the music guest on this season's opener
on Saturday Night Live. On a side note, yesterday video production
crews were in Asbury Park, shooting some footage of one of those 100
year old Jersey Shore mansions for Bruce's new video for "Lonesome

Sex music ?? & farm aid

will

Hi all

Being 45 and with 3 kids favourite sex music is but a thing of the past, but way back in 75 when I first met my wife, side 2 (who remembers side 2s ??) of 'On the Beach', way up loud, with loads of time on our hands used to be the perfect way to spend the afternoon. Memories !!

Good luck to all our friends in the US going to Farm Aid this weekend, as one of the poor souls who had tickets for Wednesday night in Brixton I am envious, but I hope you all have a great time and please tell us all about it next week.

How we listen

Steve Blank

Subject: How we listen to music

You're definitely gonna get plenty of both aspects -- thought and emotion
provoking lyrics along with beautiful and dynamic (and occasionally
extremely raw -- e.g., "Gates of Delirium") melodies -- with Yes and Floyd
(and Neil).

This is part of what I was tryin' to say.
It's the total package!!!

more TOO/Neil possibilties

Floyd &Jennifer Meadows

Forgive me if this one was already posted. I don't recall seeing it, so
here goes...In addition to such common ground as Comes a Time or Broken
Arrow, an obvious choice would be Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues. This one
also works for the acronym setlist, as in many circles it is commonly
notated as JLTTB. Of course we all know that Phil Lesh has taken this
one and made it his own, with his totally unique style of crooning.

I'm going back to San Anselmo, I do believe I've had enough!

PIECE OF CRAP

Welcome to Miami Beach, folks; everything is cheaper than it looks.

Christopher Small

I've been listening to, and really enjoying, the Santa
Monica Flyers show from TOTW#1. I see from information
on hyperrust.org that the Flyers mini-tour only lasted
a month, from late Oct to last Nov.

Are there other shows from this period available? If
you have one, would you consider a B&P for it? In
exchange, you would get (a) my eternal thanks and (b)
my organizing a 5 to 10 copy weed of any shows I get
in honor of the provider.

If it makes sense, I'll offer the discs as a "boxed
set" archive of the TTN / Santa Monica Flyers period.

(The show I have is 11-5-73; it looks like a tape from
11-3-73 is also floating around.

- Chris

Re: How we listen to music

Well, I guess we listen to music a bit differently as I'm listening
to a Pat Metheny cd just now and I haven't heard any words as yet!!
Funny though because instrumental music often does the same thing for
me that words apparently do for you!!! Imagery, feelings and
emotions!!! This Metheny CD for instance evokes all of the above
every time! Sometimes the words actually get in the way!

My better half, on the other hand....while she likes instrumental
stuff she cannot abide extended guitar soloing (be it Neil, Dead,
whoever...). She connects more with strong singer/songwriter types
(Lucinda, some Neil).

Another innaresting thing about her and music....she could really not
give a shit about the stories behind the artists (i.e., can't figure
out why I would want to waste my time reading a long opus
like 'Shakey' or the Dead book which will soon be on my nightstand).
Her philosophy....gimmme the music but keep yer 'Behind The Music'
shit!

different strokes I s'pose!

He could care less if there were words and he has no
emotional reaction to music. It's all just technical.
Comments or shared similarities anyone?

sex music--ARC

I'm kinky and I LOVE to listen to ARC during a particularly raucous
session! That repeated phrase "Love and only Love" over and over is >just
wonderful.
Not to mention the undulating explosions, the thrusting, the squealing, the building, the releasing...

Oh, now I'm all worked up. Thanks a lot.
