Well, the Archives are coming to our homes soon. I'm truly amazed and thankful. Robert & Rick thanks for making the countdown an event for the community. We need such fun & games. The NYA project certainly is a case study for extended foreplay, but he built quality into it & for that I am more than understanding about the delays. Anyway, it is also great to see that his Lincoln is still the best thing built by Ford - Let it shine LincVolt.
It is a grand time to be a Rustie; could be the golden years.

There are a couple of possible reasons...

1. Rights - it's still the BBC's, I believe... maybe they couldn't negotiate a (shakey) deal.

2. Sound - I'd be surprised if it was recorded in anything better than broadcast quality sound... which in the UK in 1971 was crappy. I suspect the 'digital' version shown recently in the UK is just a lossless version of the BBC's tape. The sound difference between this and the rest of the Archives might be too painful for Neil to bear ;-)

So Matt, grovel for a nice DVD taken off the digital signal and you'll be a happy man :-)

I've received my Blu-ray Archives! I ordered it a few weeks ago from DVD Planet, with 2-day shipping. I'm still exploring the packaging. So far I'm happy. In time the pain of the price will heal.

The MP3 card directs you to the Warner Archives site, but there's no link there yet for the downloads. I'm assuming it may not be live until next Tuesday? Or July? :-)

Very true about your last para there Richard. I took Spin CDs at their word.As I have used them for the past ten years ,I had no prior reason to doubt their word,as they are usually authoritative.I would be surprised that they scare mongered in order to flog their import copies early,based on my experiences with them.Where is Archives Guy when I need him?!
