Ain't it the truth ?!?!

On August 29th back in 1987, Neil played the song Ain't it the truth for the only time with Crazy Horse as far as I know. According to Sugar Mountain, that show has been taped but unfortunately I have only part of that show. Peter Denut posted a subject on this a couple of days ago.

Does anybody have this particular show complete? Or know anything about it, especially regarding Ain't it the truth?

Please drop me a mail then.

Thanks,
Mark

CSNY at Jazz Fest in N.O.??

Ivan Makortoff

Any N.O. Jazz Fest fans out there?? CSNY posted as rumored guests for FRI 4/26/2002..Jazz Fest in NO is a fantastic experience but crowds are unfortunately getting HUGE!!!Big name artists tend to draw crowds of 100,000+..I happened to be there when Dave Matthews played and it was way too crowded.I'm going this year and would love to see CSNY there but am rather doubtfull..If anyone has heard further, please drop a note..

Display a linked email address ?

Hi,
In viewing the rust posts online, I nitice some posts (in the AUTHOR
column) dispkay a test name and some display a link email address.
How do I control how mine is displayed ? I looked through the YAHOO
help and did not find the answer.

I've done 'edit my membership' and told it to display my email
address
already ...

Cheers, Jim

Last Waltz complete?

Jules Gray

Rhino records are now promising that the rerelease of The Band's Last
Waltz will be 4 CDs not 3 and will be complete. If this is true then
Neil's shaky 4 Strong Winds will be there warts and all.

Release date is set for April 16th.

tambourine - Slip Away

While Larry may have played tambourine part for "Slip Away" live, on the Broken Arrow album, Billy Talbot overdubbed the tambourine part in the studio. I believe he even gets a credit on the album. This is from an interview with Billy in 1996:

Click on the pictures of Neil to go to the interview, and the bit about "Slip Away" is on the 2nd page of the interview. Thanks to Hyperrust for the link!

Ned

PS. Joe Yankee played "electric tambourine" on Ambulance Blues... I know who Joe Yankee is, but I'm kind of wondering what an electric tambourine is. Another of Neil's jokes?

just hearing things but just wondering.

Yeah, Bush said that - but, I don't think he was quoting Neil Young.

Yahoo! Nice work guys

nickbirch2002

Nice work by somebody! Now I'm hooked up via Yahoo to web only Rust
and it's working fine!

I don't like to be picky, but the colour scheme on my screen sucks -
brown background and green messages. (sorry if this is official Rust
colour scheme!) I guess this is changable(?).

Thanks for keeping us going, somehow...

ASCAP mystery Neil songs

ted krever

<<Punkdavid asked about the ASCAP songs:

It's So Hard To Wait--This is actually a Richie Furay/Buffalo Springfield
song that Neil(according to Richie) wrote one line of--the credit goes to
both, so it's registered under Neil as well.
...
What Are Their Names--This is a collectively written song (David
Crosby/Neil/I think Garcia and several members of Airplane) that appears on
'If I Could Only Remember My Name'.

Subject: CSNY Prices

hello rusties & rustinettes,
following the debate about the prices for the concerts i found this
passage in "ghost on the road":

.... as there where rumblings in the press regarding ticket prices for
the concerts - Crosby was inclined to agree that a top price of 10$ for
seats at the Met Center was "outrageous"

so why complain here in the list, write to your favourite musician :-)

have a nice day

the transition.....

is most impresive.

hell, i've received 2 topicana digest's since i recived yahoo 1. i can
imagine receiving topicana digest 5500 a few years from now.....finally
unplugged or dislodged after a serious blockage.

i did get tics for dc...it will be a first for me to see stills and young on
the same stage.

a few good points about this upcoming extravaganza.......too busy rehearsing
to do leno......no new product to promote.......the backing
band....jeez....the backing band. booker t and duck dunn and al greens
former drummer holed up with csny rehearsing......the more i think about it,
the more i like it....

and i feel, for what its worth, to give props to the re*act*or's efforts on
making this cyber change as painless as it has been. amazing.

heres to hoping yahoo works....i liked the format of the first digest.

Brian Wilson shows in London (great!) Any recordings?

Nick Birch

Hello surfing Rusties

Did anyone get a recording of Brian's London show(s)? My camcorder was (temporarily) taken away on Monday night so I failed, but in the process met up briefly with Brian as he was leaving the rear exit at Royal Festival Hall . A personal Brian 'smile', hello and wave will be treasured, even if I can't get a recording!

I have Smile (1 and 2 CD versions) if anyone wants to trade for the London Brian Wilson show.

BTW, what does Neil's 1st Reprise hit (Lonely Surfer) sound like? Didn't know he was into this stuff (apart from LMYR song).

Thanks, Nick

I was there too, Nick. I spotted a few celebs, notably David Gilmour
who was 6 rows behind me. It felt soooo good having better seats
than the guitar player from Pink Floyd.....
