more to: My LIFE story
when i was first introduced to neil (i was 8 years old at
the time), it was a sunny afternoon and i was swingin under a big ole oak tree (back in oklahoma.) i'll never forget... it was so much fun growin up with an imaginary friend. fred usedta always ask questions about my boyfriends from school and i'd tell him all about them. don't remember fred ever telling me about his girlfriends...maybe he did tho. next time i won't change his name to fred. caused a lot of confusion by doin that... mira |

Although I like the song Don't Say you Love Me, I can't stand howmany times they keep singing, "Don't say ya love me." It's really getting onmy nerves! (growl) I like the rest of the song though.Hmmm....maybe it's just pregnancy hormones acting up.Hi Laurie, It's grown on me over the last few weeks, the first few times I heard that I couldn't believe how 'off' the backing singers were. I mean the first few times they come in they don't even start at the same time. One of the women singing has a really wierd voice too, with an almost australian twang to her singing voice, no idea who it is yet! Still, I have grown to love the song. Only really 'Lets Roll' hasn't become a favourite, thought i should add I do like the last minute and a half of it! Andrew Byrom |
neil, ya bastid!
Kevin tells us
gonna get it on the 26th and then listen to it on the 2 hour drive to theso neil ruined my great plan by pushing back the release of AYP? i was Phoenix CSNY show. ah well....<< Well he ruined mine as well - I was gonna get it and grovel quite loudly for the folks at Cooper'stown to play it over the inhouse system. But only if everyone promised not to spill ketchup on the cover......... ***it's all illusion anyway*** Sheila {Lookout Mama} |
Re: Phoenix Rustfest Reminder

Come hoist a few for the boyz! Heard it's a great way to ward off the flu............ ***it's all illusion anyway*** Sheila {Lookout Mama} |

Texas tapers - grovel - NNC
If any Texan Rustie tapers happen to catch any of these shows I would
certainly be interested in a trade. Of particular interest are the 2 shows with Tom Russell and Dave Alvin. For those that don't know these artists, they are well worth checking out. Great singers and songwriters one and all. Thanks, Jim - shooting elephantine KATY MOFFATT DATES: Apr 18 - Chuy¡¯s, San Antonio, TX, 210-930-6775. handle name swing; to CinnamonGirl1234
This goes out especially to The Other CinnamonGirl1234. I needed to find a
name for my dog "Zevon" that fit her into the Rust World and the only name I could come up with was ZinaminGirl...I thought of ZumamunGirl but that was a tricky tongue twister. I don't need to be stealing no name handles and I thought I was still on NeilYounGal's screen name when I sent out the last message. ZinamunGirl fits perfect for my faithful canine because I'm always calling her "pretty girl" or "Zevie" and now "Zimmie" once in awhile for Dylan. My other little dog is "Cooder" because Ry Cooder's guitar drives me somewhere else just like my little Cooder drives me batty because I'm always running after him always thinking he's going to get out from somewhere and run into the street or that somebody will steal him because he is so lovable and cute...he's a hyper little crazy Cooder as fast as lightening..a Jack Russell Terrier...what can I say? Good night from... NeilYounGal NormaJean PS I'll still be using NeilYounGal...ZinamunGirl's e-mail box is just for reading purposes. I respect Cinnamon Girl's or Roberta's handle to cross any lines...I'm just another NeilYounGal... |
New Rolling Stone... and a question about Neil's guitars.
Just got the new Rolling Stone magazine today; It has the featured review on AYP? (3.5 stars) and a monster of an article about Flight 93.
Buried way in the back, on page 145, is the quote "Are you guys ready? Ok, Let's Roll." Even if you didn't want to read about Neil, this is one of the best articles I've read so far -- its a shame RollingStone decided to break it up and make you flip to the back to finish the article. Just for once, I wish they'd not give in to the advertising and would let an article flow without interuption. Anyway, back to my Neil question: I was listening to my newly acquired 1 disc Austin '84 show (which I assume, correct me if I'm wrong, is from Austin City Limits) and began to wonder. When Neil played his "genre" shows like this, did he use Old Black? I figure he used the Gretsch hollow body for the Everybody's Rockin' era tour, but what was he playing on for the Bluenotes' tours, etc. At least now I know what the fuss about that version of Southern Pacific is all about. :) Marc _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: |
snow nnc (Re: My LIFE story)
And a quick rhetorical NNC question from my adopted home...Is it possibleseveral years ago it snowed on the first day of spring. not just little drizzles. it came down in huge drifts. the power went out about 10 a.m. and when i turned on the radio they were playing charlie brown christmas "christmastime is here". a couple of years after that, snow flurries alternated with sparkling sunshine for most of the morning on march 21. it was so crazy i sent an xmas e-card to a friend accompanied by a midi of leroy anderson's "sleigh ride". i sat here and laughed my head off. mela |
Re: Re LEGENDS Artwork
If memory serves me,Thanks for replying -- you're the only person who has bothered to do so. Unfortunately, "all anyone needs" doesn't appear to include artwork. That's fine, I don't mind making up my own liners, but I thought there might be something already made up. adios, cowboy |
It got cold on this first day of Spring..
..here in San Antone. From warm to cold and on and on. Well, gonna go listen
to some tunes before I hit the hay. From AYP?, yeah, the only song that seems to be like taking me a little longer to get accustomed to is Let's Roll...but the rest is bliss to me, in my "hear"t, anyhows...that's what I hear with my passionate h"ear"t... nj nyg |

My LIFE story
Rich Lewy
Don't worry, it won't be about the whole thing. But I am going to crawl out
of the rusted woodwork for a story which relates to LIFE and in particular, Cryin' Eyes. I've been a longtime Neil fan and pretty rabid. Well I thought I was until I joined Rust, anyhow. It used to be hard to describe to somebody why I loved Neil so much because it's so much more than just the guitars and the words and the singing. There's a connection there which is hard to explain to somebody who doesn't get it. When LIFE came out, I had been married 8 months and was moving from Ohio where my (now, former) wife had grown up and I had lived for 11 years. We were moving to a brand new job and slight career change with lots of responsibility for me, no job for her, to a place where we had neither friends nor family. I think it was Laurie who mentioned this line, "Your life's like riding on a fast train. It's easy to see far away. But right up close it's just a blurry haze, flying by from day to dayyyyaaaay." That was EXACTLY how I felt. The connection I couldn't explain crystalized. Neil knows what I'm thinking so much of the time!!!! And not just when I'm sleeping, Mira. Happy to say all has worked out nicely in New Hampshire, where there are many fine rusties. I am now very thankful for my country home. And a quick rhetorical NNC question from my adopted home...Is it possible to have a winter storm on the first day of spring??? Still in a blurry haze, Rich Lewy |

B/P blank plus postage. you send the trader a blank CD or Tape to cover his/her outlay plus extras to cover the postage cost . ------- why the B??? i mean, isn't it just additional and unnecessary P??? if i were trading, i'd try to cut P whenever possible and not send B...just cash... let's face it, most traders are gonna have B's hangin around anyway and really can't stand the outrageous cost of P themselves and would certainly understand cutting P completely out of the picture if possible simply because it's so distasteful. mira |
