Archives is crapped and I need a file!
So I just listened to my Oceanside Countryside FLAC files.... And I discovered that I'm actually missing Song #8 "The Old Homestead." How this happened I don't know because I downloaded the zipped files from the archive site. Anyhow, I just went back to the archives to see if I could snag that one song and lo and behold the? archives login is new: I log in and it takes me to a completely blank white page! Nothing, nada, completely blank! So, until Neil's techies figure out that their changes to the site are crap, I would be most grateful if someone could help me obtain the FLAC file for song #8 on Oceanside Countryside: "The Old Homestead." Cheers, and thanks: - martyh |
Re: Question on the Oceanside Countryside Analog Original Series (AOS) release
Dance Dance Dance on the V3 version was also just Neil without Nicolette. The Reprise publicity blurb and the review posted above post have that wrong. So the V3 and Standalone OC versions of DDD are the same in that respect. I wrote to Neil to point out that we have no Nicolette version of DDD anywhere but he said I was wrong but I’m not ?. |

Recorded in 1977?Oceanside Countryside?rather confusingly has the same name as CD 4 in last year’s?Archives Vol III?but while they are similar, they’re not exactly the same. The versions of the songs ‘Lost in Space’, ‘Captain Kennedy’ and ‘The Old Homestead’ are the versions that ended up on?Hawks and Doves?(in 1980) while ‘Sail Away’, ‘Goin’ Back’, ‘Human Highway’, ‘It Might Have Been’ and ‘Pocohontas’ are actually the same as on?Archives Vol III. ‘Field of Opportunity’ and ‘Dance Dance Dance’ are slightly different to the versions of?Archives Vol III, because on these versions Young is on backing vocals, rather than Nicolette Larson.

Re: Question on the Oceanside Countryside Analog Original Series (AOS) release
The only differences to the versions on the Archives III disc are that Field of Opportunity doesn't have the Nicolette Larson overdubs - Neil does the backing vocal himself. And The Old Homestead is about 30 seconds shorter with 4 lines of lyrics missing for some reason. Otherwise belived to be identical just with the originally planned track sequence. |
Re: Timeline Concert : February 14th / 73
Aloha Rusties,
I also wanted to check in and ask if anyone might have made this available for download via WeTransfer or otherwise? I followed the thread and didn’t see a link. Thanks in advance, with no pressure or expectations :-) I am currently listening to it via NYA and it sure is making me drift back. What a great sound and great opening set list. I am in Illinois visiting my parents right now and it brings much nostalgia to my mind as the southern winds blow in beautiful gulf scents ahead of this impending storm front. I am also thinking of my old friend Lisa, who made me a fan of Neil. I went to my first two concerts with her, in 1996, and 1999. Her father passed away this week, and I know she’s taking a long drive from Washington to Illinois to be with her family. I thought she would really enjoy this show, and I would like to share it with her if possible once I get it downloaded. Thanks for reading and being the most compassionate, caring, heady group of fans and friends I’ve ever encounter in this life. Geoff Yes that was me with the doves |
Question on the Oceanside Countryside Analog Original Series (AOS) release
Question - are the tracks on the new Oceanside Countryside Analog Original Series (AOS) the same as tracks available in the Archives III?? I know the Oceanside Countryside Archive III has a different track list. I just don't want to purchase something I probably already have that the tracks are scattered around in the archives. The album cover looks to be the same photo and printing which makes it confusing...

Maybe this was a discussion previously and I missed it.

Thanks,
