The Last 20 Seconds of ¡°Cinnamon Girl¡±
I've always loved the brief, intense, and weird power and mystery of Cinnamon Girl -- here's a pretty interesting in-depth look and analysis of the great last 20 seconds of that song!: "The lore surrounding the song ¡°Cinnamon Girl¡± by Neil Young and Crazy Horse is extensive. Recorded and released in 1969 on Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, it is one of Young¡¯s most beloved songs and an unassailable classic. Stories about the song abound, such as how it was one of three songs written in a day by Young while in the midst of a fever, the one-note guitar solo, and the mystery surrounding the true identity of the song¡¯s titular character. Yet there is one aspect of ¡°Cinnamon Girl¡± that remains overlooked: the last 20 seconds." ? JC

Re: Will Wallace: 4 time Jeopardy champion
I agree, Mike, Will did a very impressive job for those four rounds. I've never had the pleasure of meeting him, but I sure have become an admirer of his intelligence! Well done, Will. I hope your experience was one you will remember happily and with pride. Deb RtR

It was very inspiring to me to watch our fellow Rustie Will Wallace win 4 rounds of Jeopardy. He is a very modest yet fierce competitor because he is just so smart. Wow. I was really impressed with his performance on the show and I thank him for expressing his admiration of Neil Young to a national audience. For those of you who know him, please forward this message of admiration for him. Great job, Will! Congratulations for being a 4 day champion!

Re: Re NEIL YOUNG SOUNDTRACK SERIES
On the original question: I can¡¯t see a Soundtrack Series release of JTTP being anywhere on Neil¡¯s list of priorities as there is a soundtrack album already (and both Ohio and Find The Cost Of Freedom are on it). They are also streamed on NYA in 24/176 quality. The 50th anniversary boat left harbour in 2022. ? |
Vol III group watch on zoom!!
I am thinking of doing a zoom to watch Vol III blurays on Sundays, a couple times of month, at 1pm EST. Anyone interested in joining? I am thinking of doing one movie a showing. I have a HD player on my computer, so the quality should be as good as your equipment allows. The benefit will be that we can chat via typing or stop every so often and talk, as the group decides for that particular day. I would do at least one a month, in the winter, maybe more often depending on my schedule.? Let me know. I have to decide how to advertise and that... peace, marilyn Listen to my record at ! When the music calls, I'll be there....ny |
Re: Re NEIL YOUNG SOUNDTRACK SERIES
I think that NYA membership is the best value for a Neil Young fan ever. Annual classic membership is $25/year. About 7 cents a day. Rust level is $45/year or about 12 cents a day. Become a paying member and you can play what you asked about anytime on the timeline. Mike Expecting To Fly On Sat, Oct 26, 2024 at 6:42?AM Chris Webb via <chrisrwebb1954=[email protected]> wrote:

Re NEIL YOUNG SOUNDTRACK SERIES
Hi All, I am not a member of NYA - buying his archives is expensive enough , ha, ha. I am intrigued to know whether a member of the NYA can ask Neil, if Journey Through The Past will be included in this series, the Soundtrack Series? Not Neil's finest, but the CSNY version of Ohio/ Find the Cost of Freedom is just the best ever. Thanks in advance? Chris Webb |
Re: NEIL YOUNG ¨C ARCHIVES VOLUME 3 A GUIDE: WHAT IT CONTAINS AND WHAT IS MISSING
Just wanted to add that the information on the musical content of the eleven films listed at the end of Part 2 is not from Sugar Mountain or NYA but my own 'analysis', so any mistakes are down to me! Corrections and comments on the content are very welcome. |
