Re: Best Crazy Horse Concert?

Agree on Weld, it was also a 'gateway' record for me and I love the effects he strangles out of Old Black, think it's the Whizzer that makes it sound like techtonic plates are shifting. Love To Burn and Hurricane are unbelievable as well as the Cortez / Powderfinger combo.? I think Hurricane is from Buffalo and the video of it shows the sheer physicality of Neil's playing, he looks completely exhausted at the end of it.

I started listening to Neil when I was 16 or 17 years old. And at that time Weld came out so that immediately became my favorite live recording. Especially the version of Cortez on Weld resonates with me. Last week I compared Weld to the Rustbucket album and that was a nice surprise. The sound quality and the overall feel of the recording seems to better than Weld, to my ears at last. So I guess that would be my new favorite live recording. Quite happy by the way with all the emerging timeline recordings!
