Hey, just got home. The music's still going at Tangier, but I have to get up
early so...
Just wanted to check in with the evening update.
Tonight was a sweet acoustic-based show, with several Jennifer solo songs,
then some with other folks like Scott Bennet sitting in (Scott plays with
Brian Wilson and recently got to sing with Paul McCartney, speaking of
sweet...), and a set with her band. A little later the adorable Morty
Shallman did a few songs (also with Scott), as did Paul Plagens, who was very
"Kinksy" and cool, and eventually we got a couple great piano songs out of
Jennifer's brother Chris, just in from a summer in Paris. He sounds
fantastic, if anyone's wondering. CC White sang backup vocals with him, and
then brought down the house with her a capella version of "Let There Be Peace
On Earth." Oh my God...
Anyway, like I said, they were still going when I left, so I'm not sure what
I'm missing, but these shows just keep getting better. If any of you are in
the neighborhood, you should really consider sacrificing a few hours' sleep
and coming on out one of these Monday nights.
Sept. 30's show will include Jennifer Stills, Amanda J, Ponticello, and who
knows who else...
