Subject: The Zep - Beck link (No Yardbirds)
Everyone here is, of course, aware that a young Jimmy Page
basically 'lifted' that patent 'Zep' sound almost complete from Jeff
Beck's Truth album (feat. Rod Stewart, Ron Wood, and a brief
appearance by JohnPaulJones). Granted, Beck hadn't perfected the
sound, as such, and just as quickly as he created it, he tossed it
off. But, listen to both the Truth, and Led Zep I, and you'll see
what I mean. Too many striking similarities to even mention. Mr.
Page is a smart cookie, and he knew a good thing when he heard it.
Of course, I would never post that on a Zeppelin Egroup ;-=)

I've heard the feared Zeppites (a kind of mixture of Al Queada with a touch
of the Ayatollah's lot at their worst) are already preparing an ugly death,
whatever the truth to your post.
