A flashing analyzer screen indicates that the analyzer is in bootloader mode.
The correct way to take the analyzer out of this mode is to successfully complete the firmware update.

Try manual firmware update.
To do this, download the firmware file here:
Next, connect the analyzer to the PC (do not forget to remove the batteries), launch FlashTool, specify the update from the local file in the settings, and specify the path to the downloaded firmware file.

After that, the flashing process should complete successfully.

If you have a problem, try using an earlier version of FlashTool:

You can load measurement results from the analyzer's memory using AntScope2.
True, AntScope2 does not know how to delete the contents of memory slots.

Hello when I purchased my AA-600 back in 2014 I loaded an app called FlashRWE? This app would allow me to view / move / manipulate files I saved on my analyzer. I'm moving to a new PC and am trying to locate the app installer but no joy either here or on the RE site. I have downloaded and installed the new AntScope2 which runs fine and looks great but what are folks using now to manipulate files?

Yes, important information. I recommend removing the batteries from the analyzer before upgrading. In this case, the update process is much more stable.

When I turn the unit on version 1.13 is displayed. And the only way I could unlock the device from continuously flashing was to remove the batteries.

Seeing your post, I checked my AA-35 and found an update was available.
The first attempt to update failed - both the Windows app and the AA-35 "locked up."
The second attempt succeeded.

I was watching on the Settings | Bluetooth & other devices page and a device driver error was reported.

I unplugged the USB cable, removed the batteries from the AA-35, put the batteries back in, plugged in the USB cable, and tried again.

Maybe the order in which I did things was an issue?

In any case, I figured I'd let you know you might want to just try it again.

Looks like the library overhead is too high for your application.? My suggestion is to forget the library and just write your own code to send commands to the Zero? and process the returned ASCII data.? I would not calculate the SWR but the magnitude of the reflection coefficient which changes much more rapidly than SWR and it will be easier to find the best match.? You can see how the gamma calculations are done on the RigExpert? Zero page under Serial Communications Protocol.? ??

I just got a new Zoom AA-35 a couple weeks back and decided to see if there is an firmware update for it. The update software says that there is. So I tried to proceed with the process by letting the firmware get the update from the internet which it seem like it does. However when trying to update the AA-35 I get the expected flashing screen on the device but get the attached error.

I am on a project for my mag loop antenna controller (it moves the capacitor motor to tune) for HF bands, but the time needed to sweep via the "ZERO.startMeasure(temp)" arduino library is too slow.
I think the timing needed by a single "ZERO.startMeasure(temp)" call is too much.
It it impossible to use AA30 zero for this purpose in this way; due to the high Q of a loop antenna, I need? many readings to search for minimum SWR along ht HF bands.... (say 10 khz step)

Does somebody has a different idea on how to approach this issue ?

Hi Scott.
Definitely, the resistors are fried.
Its needs to be replaced.

In general, in this case, it is recommended to replace all seven bridge resistors.
Three resistors 51 ohms.
Two resistors 27 ohms.
Two resistors 270 ohms.

Important! Resistors Tolerance - 1%

Ok Alex, Do both of these look bad to you ?
I think the one with a 5 on it looks cooked. ?The 2700 looks suspect as well.

I downloaded the APK package for AS2 1.1.15 for Android to my Samsung Galaxy Tablet. Install went fine. BT connect to the AA-55 Zoom BT went fine. I did a few measurements. They were reasonably fast but very erratic as if AS were "choking" on receiving the data or something like that. The BT connection kept breaking with AS 2 asking me if I wanted to save the realized measurements. This erratic behavior continued repeatedly. So there is a connection problem on the Android app. But, it did connect initially and seemed to be collecting data in a reasonable fashion.

Like Doug, I am interested in seeing a revised version of this Beta software. I think your team is making progress.

OK, a couple of observations....

Doug, I DID use the AS2 that Alex specified in his post above in my test.

But, I had to remove ALL remnants of AS2 and the AA-55 Zoom from my Win 10 Pro x64 machine (including the registry in a sweep) before I reinstalled AS2 1.1.15 beta and added a new BT device. This time, it automatically connected to Com7 on my Windows 10 PC without having to hack the com port settings to delete one port and switch to another manually. However, the Auto setting in AS2 1.1.15 beta still doesn't work but Manual settings on the Com port does.?

Congratulations, Alex. Bluetooth on the AA-55 Zoom works! And fast.

But I do notice an anomaly. On the Frequency limits panel in AS2, no matter what frequency center or range I enter, once I set Run to go, it reverts to a higher frequency (e.g. 60) with a "negative" range and the screen updates from right-to-left. Hmm. Is this a feature or a bug, LOL? Seriously, there's something amiss in this panel setting so please have your team check into it, ok?

I will download the *.apk file and test on my Android tablet either later today or over the weekend and report back.

I have tested the new Android app on my Android tablet.? There were no data transfer errors and the speed was the same as I measured on Windows 8.1

However there were connection issues.? Sometimes it would connect OK but on other times the connection was made, the AA-55 Zoom went dark (into transfer mode) and then the start button in the app would NOT appear and an Attention - disconnect message would pop up in the app.? Then the A-55 Zoom screen would come alive again because it had exited transfer mode.? So not quite ready yet.....

I have tested the new Antscope 2 beta program with the beta release firmware 1.26 for the AA-55 Zoom. Other beta testers should know you need to install both in order for Bluetooth to work.?

The operating system I am using is Windows 8.1.

I did a number of tests on the data transfer speeds and they are now the same for USB and Bluetooth.? That is good news.? Here is what I measured for both.

100 points - 3 seconds
300 points - 9 seconds
500 points 16 seconds

I made quite a few sweeps and am happy to report that there were no data transfer errors so the new protocol is running OK.??

However there are some other issues that still need to be addressed:

• ?The time to establish a link connection between the AA-55 Zoom and Antscope 2 can be quite long and it often does not connect at all.? When it does connect it can take a few seconds but often you have to wait as long as 15 seconds.? The connection reliability gets worse the further you are away from the PC.? Also when the battery is set to?Optimal?in the AA-55 settings it seems to have more trouble connecting when the display dims for power saving.? I wonder if the power to the Bluetooth module is somehow affected.? Hopefully you can fix this

• When set to?Manual mode in the AntScope 2 settings the screen will often go white for about 5 seconds before the rest of the GUI appears.? This does not happen in?Auto mode so something is wrong here.??I notice that when set to?Manual mode Antscope2 will successfully connect when a USB connection is made.? So my suggestion is to get rid of the Auto/Manual mode and just have the Bluetooth COM port set by the user or discovered automatically by the program.? That way when AntScope 2 starts it can look for USB and if not present start trying for a Bluetooth connection on the specified COM port.? This will be less confusing for the user.?

• If the user tries to do a screen capture when in Bluetooth mode a strange message appears on the screen (see picture below).? From previous comments I know that you do not support screenshot transfer in Bluetooth mode but there should be a different error message..??
  
  
• In the previous release of AntScope 2 it was possible to retrieve a data file from the AA-55 Zoom.? If you try this with the current release and select one of the numbered files the program freezes.? If you select one the AA-55 Zoom 126? line that keeps adding with every sweep the program crashes and it is necessary to rest the .ini file to get the program to run again.? Both are very undesirable bugs.??

Things are getting much better....? Looking forward to testing the next beta release.

I do hope your Covid-19 symptoms are better.

I have downloaded the Flashtool, binary file, and AS2 1.1.5 to my Thinkpad with W10 x64. Same as last time. I flashed the firmware to my AA-55 Zoom BT device. All is fine. It works with USB cable fine.

But, when I pair it to my Thinkpad using BT and it says, "Device is ready to go," the AS2 does not connect to the AA-55.

What is the installation procedure other than what I have tried?
