Rpi3B+, no green led

Doug K7KY

Hello... I'm new to the group.? My Rpi3B+ has been running an IC-7300 for nearly a year, but suddenly no HDMI output.? At boot, the green led was still blinking, but no HDMI. After fiddling around trying to sort it out, I now have no green led at start, just a steady red.? There is 3.3v on pin 1 & 17.? I've tried booting with BootBerry, but no joy.? I hope it's not toast. Your SD card is bad. You'll have to make a new one.? Use a class 10 card for years of service.?

Mark... Thanks for the speedy reply.? I followed your advice and burned a new SD card. This time there was lots of green blinking which finally stopped leaving only the red LED on. Still no HDMI.? I'm hoping you have an idea for further troubleshooting.? I've connected the Rpi3B+ to another HDMI cable and monitor that is currently working on my main PC.? No problem with cable or monitor.? 73 Doug K7KY

Did you uncomment the line Force_hdmi=1 in config.txt?? That forces the hdmi on even if it doesn't properly detect an HDMI monitor

Yeah, if the HDMI monitor is not powered on when you power up the Raspi Pi, it won't display anything, unless you force it has noted below by someone else.

Thanks for the suggestions.? Yesterday, I finally got in via SSH and edited /boot/config.txt as suggested.? No joy.? I re-verified no HDMI output by connecting a working monitor/cable from this PC.? Seems the HDMI components have failed.? The Pi may still be useful standalone, but I have no need for that.?? It's hard to imagine what occurred; one morning, it just failed.? Thanks for the help.? Maybe time for Rpi4.? Doug K7KY?

Yeah sometimes things just fail for no reason. It's not hard to have a backup on hand for $35.

Same for the SD card. Cheap insurance.?
