Re: Raspberry Pi 4 and Hamvoip
Thank you for the link. Am I supposed to do this (EEPROM Flash) with a DIFFERENT OS and THEN use the Hamvoip image after?

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 and Hamvoip
Plain Jane Linux (Debian, Ubuntu) OS's will boot on the Pi4 (MMC boots just fine). If I use the SAME adapter on my Pi5 with ANYTHING other than my Hamvoip image, it will boot just fine. I think it has something to do with the way Hamvoip loads the bootstrap. Unknown.

Here are the steps you need to take to boot from a USB SSD on a pi4

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 and Hamvoip
Have you successfully booted from the M.2 board with any other OS ?

Thank you for the reply. I am using a USB 3.0 M.2 NVME
adapter. It plugs into the USB port on the Pi4. It will not
boot. It see's the USB drive but, will not start the boot
process. I can take a screen shot later and post the errors
I am getting. I have the Pi4 set to USB boot first, and flash
card second (no flash card installed). Still nothing. Do I have
to flash the EEPROM to get this to work? Thanks.

Re: RPi Kernel Panic on Bookworm
Hey Mike,
This is good to hear that some of the issues are being worked out
though most Raspberry Pi users will still have to wait since
Raspberry Pi OS is still on 6.6.47.? Curious, would you only see
this bug when using ax25d or would you see it under other
situations?

Re: Cant get full screen hamclock on 7 inch touchscreen
Hi,
?
I am also very much interested how can it be done! I have a 10" HDMI display with 1024x600 resolution, connected to my Pi 4. For the life of me, I cannot make HAMclock to fit on it :-(.
My Raspberyy Pi 4 desktop just displays fine on it, but Hamclock starts every time in giant size...

Re: Recommendations for a distro for low power operation with WSJT-X
Hi Mark
?
I have used a pi 4, with a number of the pi OS versions on wsjt-x.
?
I have a 7" touch screen that connects directly to the pi. I mounted the pi with display on a angled board on a larger board. I got a small keyboard and mouse that rest on the larger board. I can power this with a LiPo battery pack that last a long time.
?
I have a ham buddy here that uses his phone as a hot spot. He runs the pi headless and connects to it with a tablet. He also uses a lipo battery pack.
?
You do need to learn the tricks for moving the pop up windows around when using small screens.
?
Hope this helps

Just to check, are you running 2 usb cables from your Pi, one to the SCU-17 for audio, and the second to the FT-891 for CAT control ?

Technically yes, provided your remote control software runs under Linux.

Re: SCU-17 Behind The Raspberry Pi?
What all do you have plugged into the USB ports?? If you have multiple devices plugged in, you could possibly need a powered USB hub. All 4 USB ports combined can only provide a total of 1 amp.
