Re: 21-step crashing qcdn
开云体育I had this happen when I had the wrong number of entries in a file. You could try reading it in data-tool and writing it to see if that will clean it up?E On Mar 20, 2025, at 5:15?PM, type_63@... via groups.io <schworerwm@...> wrote:

Re: 21-step crashing qcdn
开云体育If I’m understanding this correctly, I was also running into the same thing recently and the following fixed it:1) ?make sure you’re selecting the correct settings before saving the .txt file of the measurement data. I don’t have them in front of me but it’s detailed in the QCDN documentation. 2) try dragging the text file onto the program window instead of opening it via the file explorer/import button? 21-step crashing qcdn
Greetings :)
I am running a 21 step target and when I attempt to open in QCDN linearize app, it crashes the system-every time. I want to use this as measurement because I actually looks pretty good. I seem to recall others posting about this ages ago. Searched the group posts but it doesn’t come up in the search.
?
Any ideas?

specifics:
i3pro, QCDN, 21 step target
macmini m1
os- sequoia 15.x

Epson Stylus 2200
I have an old Epson Stylus2200 and used it years ago for printing digital negs. Haven't used it in at leat 7-8 years. I bought some expired ink and cannot get anything near a print-just some light color, no B&W coming through at all. Laughingly, it is recognized and shows as having full ink cartridges. I expect the problem is the nozzles/print head, but the question I have is whether to get it fixed, or just toss it. I have a Canon PIXMA Pro100 that I use for printing, but wanted to get back into alternatyive photography, hence breaking out the R2200 from the shelf.? Any recommendations greatly appreciated. |
Re: Epson p800 Drying time per head pass control on Windows
I had? a similar problem with the P900. Here is how I solved it. Use the Epson media installer to make a new media file. For example, duplicate Premium Gloss. Then edit the parameters you want - like time per pass. Save with a new name and install it on your printer. Set the paper type on the printer to your new media name and print from Print Tool as usual. On Wed, Mar 19, 2025 at 5:54?AM wesmarek1 via <wesmarek1=[email protected]> wrote:

Epson p800 Drying time per head pass control on Windows
Hi,?
?
Ink is not drying fast enough while i am printing on a? photopolymer plate.
I use Epson sc P800 and Quadtone application on Windows 11.
Extending Drying time per head pass would help but I do not know how to change it with quadtone.
?It is possible to change that in Epson driver but I cannot do it with QTR?
Please help.

Re: Epson P5370
开云体育Will try, Alan. In other words make the one edge thicker? I wonder if masking tape would do the trick. The other thing is the P5370 often says can’t detect paper with OHP so just now I took a sharpie and colored in a line on the right edge and bottom edge and it seemed to work so fingers crossed that problem is solved. ? Re: Epson P5370
开云体育Glad I was of help! We have had excellent luck so far with the P5370 using P900 profiles. The only remaining problem is printing on 8.5x11 I have to limit students to 9 inch prints an inch away from the edge of the OHP or that dreaded banding occurs. Chris ? From:

Chris, thank you very much for this detail. I tried multiple time to install the p5370 with the InstallP5370=P900 before returning to this group to find what I was doing wrong. No problem at all once I changed the command to InstallP5300=P900. ? Sandy |

But the command for some reason had to be InstallP5300=P900.command. For some reason this printer only shows as a P5300. Then I cut and pasted all the quads into the P5300 file folder, too, and they showed up fine. Chris, thank you very much for this detail. Re: QTR-Create-ICC-RGB.exe
I only used only 16 Lab values, which apparently isn't enough for an icc. I couldn't find any documentation regarding a minimum. On Sun, Mar 9, 2025 at 2:00?PM Roy Harrington via <roy=[email protected]> wrote: Show us the Spyder output. |
QTR-Create-ICC-RGB.exe
I use QTR-Create-ICC-RGB.exe to create icc's for soft proofing my alt process prints, and have been doing so for many years. After I do a calibration, I make a calibrated negative with a step table that goes from 0 to 255 in steps of 5 RGB units (0, 5, 10, ... 255). I measure the print with a Spyder and then drag the Spyder output file onto the QTR-Create-ICC-RGB.exe, which creates the icc profile. This has always worked and has given me very reliable soft proofs for cyanotype, vandyke, and kallitype.
?
Today, I printed a color step table, not with a digital negative, but rather with my inkjet printer. I wanted to see if I could make an icc profile that I could use to simulate printing color separations.
I measured the print with my Spyder and dragged the Spyder output file onto QTR-Create-ICC-RGB.exe. The QTR-Create output file shows that the L values linear, but the A and B values are all zero!?

Re: Setting up P900 for Direct to Plate methods using QTR
开云体育From what I can tell, ?platen gap isn’t all that critical - the plates and carriers are well below that thickness - 1.1mm I think. I believe this is just there in case the media is curled slightly and it prevents accidental head strikes. I think the more critical thing is to define the media thickness relatively accurately.?
