Re: Revisiting Carbon 6/7/8 in 2024
I haven't heard back from Joe, so I'm waiting on a reply from the general sales team about glop = wj824. On the octoinks it looks like they're sold out.
Paul, did you ever have a formula to make my own glop?

The skew message frequency is about average, just keep trying? - once it accepts the carrier the first time it tends to settle down.? You do need to be fussy about cutting the carrier board perfectly square. I will be in the studio tomorrow and post a picture of a carrier..

Thanks Berel,
Yes I’d love a photo. I’d be using it to print digital negatives/film. ?I would say 50% if the time the 3880 says paper askew when I try loading via front feed with the film taped to a thin board.?

Are you able to save QTR print settings, and recall them successfully? That seems to be the main functionality that people lose when upgrading to the newer Mac OS's.

Re: Newbie standing over P900 with hammer
Thanks Greg. Yes I had already set a new paper type in the installer specifically for DTP. I had not printed DTp for some time so I probably forgot the exact workflow.

Did you select the paper size in the printer itself? ? Hi. I'm having a similar issue. In Print Tool I select 11x14 as paper size but when I hit "Print" I get a message that the image does not fit the selected paper size and will be cropped. If I click on "Fit to paper" then it is ok but the image shrinks a bit. (This is for DTP (in a carrier) so it has to be posterboard media. If I select 11x14 posterboard in Photoshop the image is not centred as there seems to be a margin at the top)
?
Any idea why??
?
thanks

Thanks Chris. Not much really. I moved from Monterey to Sequoia in one step and everything worked fine. I checked that the original print driver (12.65) for my P-900 was working and it was ok and not that damned Apple AirPrint version! PrintTool worked fine too. However, it did take me some time to get my Quadfiles for QTR to install. I wish I could remember what I did, but after a couple of hours frustration, they turned up as profiles in my QTR print menu.

I no longer have access to Kirkland paper (if it is still made). Epson Premium Luster is a good substitute for everyday printing, but it has watermarks on the back.
Does someone make a similar quality paper without watermarks??
Is anyone using glossy paper as a digital negative (for contact printing in the darkroom)??
I live well off the beaten path, so it’s not easy to have a look at a variety of paper.

Re: A couple of questions about QTR Print-Tool & QuadToneProfiler-DN (v3) Licenses
Yes, for QuadToneProfiler apps , you can deactivate your license on a computer and re-activate it on another one.
?
For Print-Tool, you can have several computers running the software with a license.

?I stuck with Monterey for years dreading the day when I would be forced to upgrade my O.S. A few months ago, I bit the bullet and upgraded to Sequoia. After a bit of work, nothing too technical, I have been printing successful Epson P900 printing digital negatives with QTR, and PrintTool. All of Richard Boutwell's applications work too.

Hello molte@
?
I am currently running Epson 7800,9800, and P900 with the QTR 2.8.0 with Print-Tool -2.3.4 on an older 2014 Mac Mini 2.6hrz running macOS Monterey 12.7.6. Printing digital negatives.
They will never be connected to the internet for any upgrades again.?
All is currently running smooth (fingers crossed).?
Good Luck!
