Re: Registration Marks With PrintTool
开云体育Larry, I will there was a magic bullet that would fix your problem. ?Since it worked once for you and no longer does, obviously something has changed. ?And I am sure you have probably racked your brains trying to figure out what! ?Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.

Re: DTP WITH P900
Thank you Clay. I’ll have a go with 2 (2ply) boards stuck together and will take it from there.? I have printed without a carrier on larger plates ?but I have some small plates that are below what is allowed by the front feed of the P900.? Thanks again for your feedback. Install on Mac Sequoia
Where are you supposed to be able to use the curve descriptor files?? I successfully set these up and used them in an older OS but it's been a few years now and I have not been able to get it to work with this new install.? When they are working correctly should they show up in the area indicated with the red box below?

Re: Registration Marks With PrintTool
Michael, you mentioned printing uv blocking borders in PS. I use to do this and it worked great for my platinum/palladium printing. For some reason this no longer works. By not working I mean that the borders no longer seem to block the uv enough to achieve a clean border even though I can achieve a paper white within the image. I have not been able to figure out why. |
Re: DTP WITH P900
开云体育There appears to be some variation in the thickness of mat board. Currently, I make my carriers using a solid 2-ply for the base and then another 2-ply with a cut-out window to hold the plate. It probably wouldn’t hurt to have something thinner on the bottom as long as it has some rigidity. I know Dave Marsh makes really cool carriers using thin aluminum sheets for the bottom. And some people are able to print their plates without any carrier at all - although when I have tried doing this the plate skids and I end up with a mess.?

Re: DTP WITH P900
Hello Clay
?
I have just received a pack of 2 ply matt board from Archival Methods and would like to ask the following question. Is the carrier fashioned out of 2 sheets of 2 ply board? One as a base and the
other one with the cut-out window? Or should the base be of a thinner material? I have measured the thickness of 2 boards together and this works out at 1.43mm (not 1.27mm).?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks and a Happy New Year to all. |
Re: Registration Marks With PrintTool
As Greg pointed out you can add registration marks via PS onto your image file by increasing the canvas (and depending upon your process also print UV blocking “strips” around the image perimeter to hide brush marks).? You could also create a separate “registration image” file and place it, along with your image file within Print Tool.
Another way, depending upon your registration requirements is to use the text tool with Print Tool.? For example, you can use this function to print a * or + around the corners outside of your print that function as registration marks. |

开云体育DM, It is not for the faint of heart. Look at how big it is compared to the P900. 200 ml cartridges, too so initial ink purchase is $1000. Chris ? From:

Anyone working with P9570?
I have access to a P9570 and would like to try making some larger negs. Has anyone found a way to make this work? I checked the threads and only found one person who also was wanting to work with a P9570.
?
I was successfully able to add the printer using the "InstallP9500.command" within the QuadToneRIP Profiles (in Apps), but... I have no idea if the P9500 and P9570 are similar.

Anyone?

Epson P5370
开云体育We’ve switched to the Epson P5370 at work due to the P900s having such severe pizza wheel issues as to make both printers unusable for all but the busiest of images.. No luck being able to install QTR for the P5370. Op sys attached. Error message attached. I’ve named it P5000, P5300 series, P5370, none work. I’ve re-installed QTR 3x. I’ve turned on and off printer. I’ve made sure all permissions are read/write on the folders from Library to quadtone to quads. Any ideas? Someone on this list had no problem using P900 profiles on this printer, either, and I do notice the inks are the same except VLM is LM and VM is M…hope that is not an issue. Chris ? |
