Linking Repeater to another repeater

Hi Colby,
I have no problem linking to another reflector, like REFxxx, but I tried linking to the Papa System repeater and repeater on the dstar list on my radio but was not able to link. Please advice.

Sorry Carty, there is no way I know of to send you radio a command that would change it's settings.

Correct. That will set you Quadnet login as well as the hot-spot/repeater callsign.

Glad you got it working! I like this mode with my 4100 in my car. Even traveling around in the desert with all of the cellular dead spots I can end up driving through, I stay connected to DSTAR2 or QNET20 C and the conversation comes back as soon as I exit the dead spot.

It seems like the only problem I'm having is that when my mobile cold boots, I sometimes won't connect to QuadNet right away. I may have to do an "????? RX" once or twice to get the system properly initialized. I though the changes to the *.service scripts would fix that, but I still have something to learn here.

Was actually very easy - just one additional command (numerically speaking) and that was the one to install the package, and it then means the normal package manager is aware of the installation.

It is preferable to have stable releases on production systems rather than to be using alpha or beta releases that haven't had much testing.

In that respect my one can be considered a non-prod system because in reality it isn't yet up and running.

But when it is running I would want to test a release before applying it to a stable production system. In that context a DEB package is the way to go - especially if such a package is already compiled and downloadable. :)

Thanks Tom, pretty awesome you can get online with only a pi and internet connection if you have a terminal mode radio and no repeater near by!

As for as ircdbb login, I just put my call sign in the qn.cfg was that right?

The IP you gave me is the IP they’re going to have to use to link to your repeater, unless ATT or your internet provider lets you use your unused static on that device, in which case, you could provide THAT address once its up and running.

You’d have to check with AT&T on that, I’m not sure how that device works and if they’d allow you to plug one of your unused addresses in or not.
